​Mini-Dress with Cables

You’ll need:

650 (700) 750g of grey-green Corsofino yarn (35% cotton, 35% polyacryl, 30% viscose; 114m/50g);

Knitting needles 4,5 and 4.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts;

Cable (27 sts wide): due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the ornament. Repeat 1^st-36^th rows.

Stitches control: wrong-side pattern and stockinette stitch: 17 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Cable: 27 sts x 25 rows = 8 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 158 (166) 174 sts and divide them in the following way: 1 selvage st, 6 (7) 8 sts of wrong-side pattern, * 27 sts of cable, 12 (14) 16 sts of wrong-side pattern*; repeat from * to * x twice, 27 sts of cable, 6 (7) 8 sts of wrong-side pattern, 1 selvage st. In 12 cm = 30 rows from the set-up row, make purl2tog before and after cable in the central 3 areas of wrong-side pattern from both sides for better fitting = 6 decreases. Make such decreases x 4 times in every 24^th row = 128 (136) 144 sts. In 62,5 cm = 156 rows (61 cm = 152 rows) 58,5 cm = 148 rows from the set-up row, bind off 3 sts for arm-holes from both sides and 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 116 (124) 132 sts. In 79,5 cm = * 198 rows from the set-up row, bind off 9 (11) 11 sts from both sides for shoulder chamfers and 2 x 10 (10) 11 sts in every 2^nd row. At the same time, in the 198^th row (*WS) from the set-up row, bind off the central 58 (62) 66 st for the neck-hole, knitting in one cable 13 x purl2tog and bind them off at the same time, finish both sides separately. In 81 cm = 202 rows from the set-up row, all the sts should be bound off.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole. For this, in 180^th row from the set-up row, bind off the central 58 (62) 66 sts, as it is described for back.

Sleeves

Cast on 45 (50) 55 sts and make 1,5 cm = 4 rows of wrong-side pattern for placket, increase 3 sts in the last row = 48 (53) 58 sts. Then, work with stockinette stitch. In 9,5 cm = 24 rows from the placket, increase 1 st for sleeve chamfers from both sides and 2 x 1 st in every 8^th row = 54 (59) 64 sts. In 21 cm = 52 rows from the placket, bind off 2 sts from both sides for sleeve caps and * 1 x 1 st and 1 x 2 sts*; repeat from * to * x twice, 7 x 1 st. In 32 cm = 80 rows from the placket, bind off the rest 18 (23) 28 sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Fasten the neck-hole and lower edge with row of “shrimp stitch” with the help of crochet hook.
