​Grey Dress with Cables

You’ll need:

500 (600) 650g of brown-grey Marina yarn (60% cotton, 20% viscose, 20% polyamide; 70m/50g);

Knitting needles 5,5;

Crochet hook 5.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Pattern of cables: the quantity of sts is multiple 20 + 0 (10) 0 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the pattern. For S and L sizes, repeat the pattern between selvage sts, make knit sts instead of grey sts in the end of the 13^th row. For size M, start with 1 selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1^st-16^th rows.

Stitches control: stockinette stitch: 16,5 sts x 21,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Pattern of cables: 25 sts x 21,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back/Front

Cast on 102 (112) 122 sts and work with stockinette stitch. In 44 cm = 94 rows from set-up row, start work with pattern of cables. In 15 cm = 32 rows (13 cm = 28 rows) 11 cm = 24 rows from pattern change, bind off 10 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 82 (92) 102 sts. In 18,5 cm = 40 rows from patterns change, bind off the central 48 (48) 58 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. In 30 cm = 64 rows from patterns change, bind off the rest 17 (22) 22 sts of shoulder from each side.

Assembly

Make shoulder and side seams. Fasten the lower edge, arm-holes and neck-hole line with 1 circle row of “shrimp stitc”. For strap, make chain of 142 (150) 158 cm long.
