Tunic-Dress with Cables
You’ll need:
350 (350) 400 (400) g of beige Sandnes Mini Duett (55% cotton, 45% wool; 175m/50g);
Circular knitting needles 2,5 and 3.
Size: М (L) XL (XXL).
Waist circumference: 88 (93) 99 (104) cm;
Length: 80 (81) 82 (82) cm.
Stitches control: 27 sts of stockinette stitch, knitting needles 3 = 10 cm.
Instructions
Back and Front
Cast on 288 (300) 324 (336) sts with knitting needles 3 and work with 1 x 1 rib around for 12 rows. Place contrast yarn on each side: 144 (150) 162 (168) sts for each side. Beginning from one side, make 23 knit sts, pattern due to the scheme A (14 sts), work with stockinette stitch until there are 37 sts to contrast yarn, pattern due to the scheme B (14 sts), 23 knit sts = side contrast yarn, repeat from the opposite side. Knit for 22 cm. Then, decrease 1 st from both sides of cables in the following way: knit until there are 2 sts left to the scheme A, knit2tog, work due to the scheme, slip 1 st without knitting, 1 knit st, draw the slipped st through knit st, knit until there are 2 sts left to the next cable, repeat the decreases on the second side – 8 sts should be decreased. Repeat these decreases every 5 cm, until you make them for 6 (6) 7 (7) times = 240 (252) 268 (280) sts. Knitto 62 cmheight. Bindoffthearm-holes.
Knit 5 sts after contrast yarn, bind off 10 sts, make 5 sts from the second side after contrast yarn, bind off 10 sts. Then, finish both halves separately, bind off the sts for sleeve caps from RS in the following way: knit 2 sts, knit2tog until there are 4 sts left, slip 1 st without knitting, 1 knit st, draw the slipped st through knit st, 2 knit sts. Repeat decreases until there are 98 (104) 112 (118) sts left. Transfer the sts to the auxiliary needle, make second half in the same way.
Sleeves
At first, cast on sts of one half, cast on 66 (70) 70 (74) sts, knit the second half and cast on 58 (62) 70 (74) sts = 328 (348) 364 (384) sts. Make the same pattern as for front and back, make sleeves with 2 x 2 rib. Continue making decreases of neck-hole, make the first 2 sts as purl2tog or knit2tog, work with rib until there are 2 sts left on the sleeve, slip 1 st without knitting, 1 purl or 1 knit st, draw the slipped st through knit st. Repeat these decrease in every 2nd row until you make them 14 (15) 16 (17) times. Change to knitting needles 2,5 and work with 1 x1 rib until you make 5 stripes, make decreases at the same time on RS. Bind off the sts from WS.
