​Grey Pullover with Central Cable

You’ll need:

600 (650) 700g of grey 100% polyacryl yarn (90m/50g);

Straight knitting needles 4,5 and 5;

Circle knitting needles 5.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: 1 circle row of purls, 1 circle row of knit sts by turn;

Stockinette stitch: in RS rows – knit sts, in WS rows – purls;

Relief cable 95 (103) 111 sts wide: due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows due to the ornament, yarn overs – as purls. Start with 1 selvedge st, sts before pattern repeat A, pattern repeat A x 7 (8) 9 times, repeat the sts between pattern A and pattern B (middle) x once, pattern repeat B x 7 (8) 9 times, finish with sts after pattern repeat B and 1 selvedge st. Repeat 1^st-20^th rows on the central 21 sts x 3 times = 60 rows and 61^st-62^nd rows x once; make 1^st-20^th rows x once on the rest out sts for pattern chamfer, then, 13^th-20^th rows x 5 times and 61^st-62^nd rows x once.

Central pattern 31 sts wide: work due to the scheme from the red line. Repeat 63^rd-82th rows.

Stitches control:

Relief cable: 21 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Stockinette stitch: 17,5 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Central pattern: 31 sts = 14 cm wide.

Instructions

Front/Back

Cast on 95 (103) 111 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 1 WS row with knit sts. Don’t take this row into account. Then, turn to knitting needles 5 and work with relief cable. In 24 cm = 62 rows from the set-up row continue work in the following way: 1 selvedge st, 31 (35) 39 sts of stockinette stitch, 31 sts of central pattern, 31 (35) 39 sts of stockinette stitch, 1 selvedge st. In 40 cm = 104 rows (38,5 cm = 100 rows) 37 cm = 96 rows from the set-up row, bind off 3 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 1 x 2 sts, 5 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 75 (83) 91 sts. In 60 cm = 156 rows from the set-up row, bind off 7 (9) 11 sts from both sides for shoulder chamfers and 1 x 7 (9) 11 sts in every 2^nd row. In 61,5 cm = 160 rows from the set-up row, leave the rest 47 sts.

Sleeves

Cast on 51 (51) 57 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 1 WS row with knit sts. Then, turn to knitting needles 5 and work in the following way: 1 selvedge st, 9 (9) 12 sts of stockinette stitch, 31 sts of central pattern, 9 (9) 12 sts of stockinette stitch, 1 selvedge st. For central pattern, repeat 81^st-82^nd rows x once, then, 63^rd-82^nd rows. At the same time, increase 5 x 1 sr in every 12^th row from the set-up row for sleeve chamfers, 5 x 1 st in every 10^th row (4 x 1 st in every 10^th row and 9 x 1 st in every 8^th row) 4x 1 st in every 10^th row and 9 x 1 st in every 8^th row = 71 (77) 83 sts. In 46 cm = 120 rows from the set-up row, bind off 3 (4) 4 sts for sleeve cap from both sides and 2 x 2 sts, 12 x 1 st, 2 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 (4) 5 sts in every 2^nd row. In 60 cm = 156 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 19 (21) 25 sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams, transfer the previously left 47 sts of back and front to the circle knitting needles and continue making the pattern on the front and back, make yarn overs as knit sts in even rows of the central pattern. At the same time, knit selvedge st and neighboring st together = 90 sts. At 5,5 cm height of collar = 14 circle rows, make 3 circle rows of garter stitch more and then, bind off all the sts loosely.

Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
