Pittsburgh Steelers Hat
Hello! I saw, that one of the users asked for Pittsburgh Steelers patterns. My brother asked me to knit him Pittsburgh Steelers hat, so I found the pattern.
Sizes: Average Adult Head.
Finished Measurements: 22” circumference
Materials
Cascade Yarn's 220, 1 hank of #7827 (A), 1 hank of #8555 (B)
One set 16” circulars and double points of sizes 7 knitting needles or size needed to obtain
Gauge: In Stockinette St Patt with larger needles, 18 sts and 24 rows = 4". To save time, take time to check gauge.
K1 P1 Rib Patt (over mult. 2)
Every Round: *K1, P1; repeat from * around.
Stockinette St Patt (over any number of sts)
Row 1 (RS): Knit around.
Notes
♦ Ribbed brim is folded up, therefore is knit “wrong side out” until the stockinette portion begins.
♦ Change to double point needles when stitches don’t reach around circular needle.
Hat
Using circular needles and #7827, CO 96 sts. Join, being careful not to twist. Knit 1 round. Cut
yarn. Join #8555. Purl 1 round. Continue in K1 P1 Rib for 12 rounds. Change to stockinette for
4”.
Begin 12 rounds of Fair Isle Chart. Knit 1 round plain in #7827. Remainder of hat is worked in
#7827.
Crown
*Knit 10, k2tog; repeat from * around.
Knit 1 round plain.
*Knit 9, k2tog; repeat from * around.
Knit 1 round plain.
*Knit 8, k2tog; repeat from * around.
Knit 1 round plain.
*Knit 7, k2tog; repeat from * around.
Knit 1 round plain.
*Knit 6, k2tog; repeat from * around.
Knit 1 round plain.
*Knit 5, k2tog; repeat from * around.
*Knit 4, k2tog; repeat from * around.
*Knit 3, k2tog; repeat from * around.
*Knit 2, k2tog; repeat from * around.
*Knit 1, k2tog; repeat from * around.
Cut yarn about 12” long. Thread through remaining stitches using a tapestry needle. Finish off.
Weave in ends. Fold up ribbed brim. Block.
