​Knit Baby Hat

You’ll need:

50g of pink Sandnes Mandaring Petit yarn (100% cotton; 180m/50g);

Knitting needles 2,5;

Silk lace.

Size: 0-3 months (6 months) 9 months (12 months).

Used Patterns

Relief pattern A: * 4 knit sts, draw the last but one st through the last st, slip the next st, draw it through the previous st, slip the next st and knit it through the previous st*; repeat from * to *.

Relief pattern B: 1st row (WS): 2 purls, * yarn over, 3 purls, draw the 1st st through the last 2 sts*; repeat from * to*, 1 purl’

2nd row: knit;

3rd row: 1 purl, * 3 purls, draw the 1st st through the last 2 sts, yarn over*; repeat from * to *, 2 purls;

4th row: knit.

Repeat 1st-4th rows.

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Stitches control: 27 sts = 10 cm.

Instructions

Cast 163 (175) 187 (199) sts with knitting needles 2,5 and make relief pattern A = 82 (88) 94 (100) sts. Then, make 10 rows of garter stitch, correct the quantity of sts in the last row to 81 (87) 93 (99) sts. Then, work with relief pattern B to 10 (11) 12 (14) cm height. Continue work with stockinette stitch with straight and reversed rows, make decreases in the following way: in RS row: 1 knit st, * 11 (12) 13 (14) knit sts, knit2tog*; repeat from * to *, 2 knit sts = 6 sts were decreased. Repeat these decreases in every RS row, make 1 st fewer between decreases until there are 15 sts left. Cut the yarn, tighten the rest sts, fasten off.

Assembly

Make seams. Cast on 63 (69) 75 (81) sts, make 2 rows of garter stitch with knitting needles 2,5. Make 1 knit st, * 1 yarn over, knit2tog*; repeat from * to * in the next row. Make 2 more rows of garter stitch and bind off sts. Draw lace through the holes in the pattern.
