Instructions

Cast on 45 (59) sts with knitting needles 5 and make 9 cm = 22 rows for the placket in the following way: 1 selvedge st, 9 (15) sts of rib, 6 sts of relief strip, 13 (15) sts of rib, 6 sts of relief strip, 9 (15) sts of rib, 1 selvedge st. Then, turn to knitting needles 5,5 and work in the following way: 1 selvedge st, 9 (15) sts of relief cable, for size S start near arrow A, 6 sts of relief strip, 13 (15) sts of of relief cable, 6 sts of relief strip, 9 (15) sts of relief cable, for size S finish near the arrow B, 1 selvedge st. At the same time, increase 4 x 1 st and 15 x 2 sts in the 2nd row from both sides for sleeve chamfers = 113 (127) sts, include them in the pattern (in relief cable and in relief strip by turn). In 19 cm = 40 rows from the placket, increase 15 sts from both sides = 143 (157) sts, include these sts in the pattern. In 27,5 cm = 58 rows (30,5 cm = 64 rows) from the placket, divide your work in half for the neck-hole and in 72 (79) sts finish these details separately, leave the rest 71 (78) sts. Make back on the first 72 (79) sts. In 39 cm = 82 rows (45 cm = 94 rows) from the placket, you’ll reach the center of back.

Make left front on the last 71 (78) sts, at the same time, bind off 3 (2) sts from the right side for neck-hole chamfer and 11 x 3 sts (14 x 3 sts and 14 x 2 sts by turn). In 39 cm = 82 rows (45 cm = 94 rows) from the placket, bind off the rest 35 (41) sts. For the right front, cast on 35 (41) sts and continue the pattern for the left front, for size S start with the 17th row of the scheme, for size L make the last 2 rows of the left front x once (= 5th and 6th rows of the scheme). Make neck-hole chamfer in symmetry, i.e., decreases will become increases = 71 (78) sts. In 50,5 cm = 106 rows (58,5 cm = 122 rows) from the placket, you’ll reach the end of neck-hole. Continue work due to the pattern on 71 (78) sts of front and 72 (79) sts of back, totally, on 143 (157) sts. Make sleeve chamfers in symmetry to the left front and back. In 78 cm = 164 rows (89 cm = 186 rows) from the placket, make the placket of the right sleeve with knitting needles 5 in the same way, as for the left sleeve. Bind off the sts due to the ornament.

Assembly

Cast on 126 (146) sts with circle knitting needles along the lower edges of front and back and work in the following way: 1 selvedge st, * 7 (9) sts of rib, 6 sts of relief strip*; repeat from * to * x 8 times, finish with 7 (9) sts of rib and 1 selvedge st. At 9 (11) cm height of the placket, bind off the sts due to the ornament. Cast on 45 (55) sts with circle knitting needles along the straight edges of front, 45 (47) sts along the neck-hole chamfers, 37 (43) sts along the back neck-hole and work on all 217 (247) sts with rib, start with 1 selvedge st and 1 knit st, then, make 1 purl, 1 knit st by turn and finish with 1 selvedge st. At the same time, make 6 button-holes in the 1st row of the right front placket; bind off 2 sts and cast them on again in the next row. Make the 1st button-hole in 2 sts of the lower edge, the next 5 button-holes with the interval of 6 (8) sts. At 2,5 cm height of the placket, bind off all the sts as knit sts. Make side seams and lower seams of the sleeves. Sew the buttons.
