Beige Knit Jacket

You’ll need:

550 (600) 650g of beige Laluca Cotton yarn (50% cotton, 50% polyacryl; 65m/50g);

Straight and circular knitting needles 5,5;

Crochet hook 4;

6 buttons;

85 cm of leather belt.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

2 x 1 rib;

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 8 + 6 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows and yarn overs as purls, in double yarn overs make the 2nd yarn over as knit st. Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st.

Repeat 1st-4th rows.

Stitches control, main pattern: 16 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 72 (80) 88 sts and work with the main pattern. In 32,5 cm = 78 rows (35 cm = 84 rows) 37,5 cm = 90 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 3 sts for arm-holes from both sides, then, 2 x 2 sts in every 2nd row and 1 x 1 st in the next 4th row = 54 (62) 70 sts. In 50 cm = 120 rows (55 cm = 132 rows) 60 cm = 144 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 3 (3) 6 sts from both sides for sleeve chamfers and 3 x 4 (5) 5 sts in every 2nd row. At the same time with the first shoulder chamfer decrease, bind off the central 14 (16) 18 sts and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts in every 2nd row. In 52,5 cm = 126 rows (57,5 cm = 138 rows) 62,5 cm = 150 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.

Left Front

Cast on 27 (32) 35 sts and work with the main pattern, divide the sts in the following way: 1 selvage st, 3 (3) 4 x pattern repeat, 1 (6) 1 st after pattern repeat, 1 selvage st. Make arm-hole and shoulder chamfer from the right side in the same way, as for back = 18 (23) 26 sts. In 44 cm = 106 rows (49 cm = 118 rows) 54 cm = 130 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 1 (3) 3 sts from the left side for neck-hole and 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row = 15 (18) 21 sts. Bind off all the sts at the height of back.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 48 (56) 64 sts and make 11 cm of rib between selvage sts. Then, work with the main pattern. In 31,5 cm = 76 rows from rib, bind off 1 x 1 st from both sides for sleeve caps, then, 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row, 3 x 1 st in every 4th row, 2 x 1 st, 2 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 sts in every 2nd row. In 43,5 cm = 104 rows from rib, bind off the rest 18 (26) 34 sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams; for collar, cast on 72 (76) 80 sts along the neck-hole line with circular knitting needles, make 12 cm of rib between selvage sts and bind off the sts due to the pattern. For plackets, cast on 84 (92) 100 sts along the edges of front, make 10 cm of rib between selvage sts and bind off the sts due to the pattern. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Fasten the bottom of jacket with 1 row of “shrimp stitch”. Sew buttons and connect them with leather belts.
