Instructions

Back

Cast on 93 (107) sts and make 4 cm with rib A for the placket. Continue work with chess-board pattern with knitting needles 6. At the same time, decrease 2 x 1 st in every 10th row from both sides and 9 x 1 st in every 8th row = 71 (85) sts. In 44 cm = 104 rows from the placket, increase 1 x 1 st, then, 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row and 8 x 1 st in every 4th row = 93 (107) sts. In 63 cm = 148 rows from placket, bind off 1 x 2 sts from both side for arm-holes, then, 2 x 2 sts in every 2nd row = 81 (95) sts. In 83,5 cm = 196 rows (86 cm = 202 rows) from the placket, bind off 1 x 5 (6) sts from both sides for shoulder chamfers, then, 2 x 5 sts, 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts (2 x 6 sts and 2 x 4 sts) in every 2nd row. At the same time, in 85 cm = 200 rows (87,5 cm = 206 rows) from the placket, bind off the central 19 (25) sts for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 3 sts in every 2nd row from inwards. In 87,5 cm = 206 rows (90 cm = 212 rows) from the placket, bind off the rest 3 sts of shoulders.

Left Front

Cast on 43 (51) sts with knitting needles 5,5 and make 4 cm of rib A for the placket, increase 1 (0) st in the last row = 44 (51) sts. Continue work with chess-board pattern with knitting needles 6. For M size, make pattern repeat x 3 times between selvage sts. Make fitting and arm-hole from the right side in the same way, as for back = 38 (45) sts. Make shoulder chamfer along the right side in the same way, as for back. At the same time, in 85 cm = 200 rows (87,5 cm = 206 rows) from the placket, bind off 1 x 9 (12) sts along the left side for the neck-hole, then, 2 x 2 sts in every 2nd row. Bind off the rest 3 sts of shoulder at the height of back.

Right Front

Make in reflection to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 40 (45) sts for each sleeve with knitting needles 5,5 and work with rib B for the placket. In 13 cm from the set-up row, bind off the sts due to the pattern. For the fold, cast on 40 (48) sts with knitting needles 6 in 2 cm from the bound off edge and work with chess-board pattern, for size M, start with 1 selvage st and the last 12 sts of pattern repeat, pattern repeat x once, finish with the first 2 sts of pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. For size L, start with 1 selvage st and the last 2 sts of pattern repeat, pattern repeat x 3 times, finish with the first 2 sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Turn the last 2 cm of placket down to the RS. At the same time, increase 7 x 1 st in every 10th row from the set-up row from both sides = 54 (62) sts. In 34 cm = 80 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 4 sts from both sides for sleeve caps and 4 x 3 sts in every 2nd row. In 38,5 cm = 90 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 22 (30) sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. For the collar, cast on 53 (61) sts along the neck-hole line with circular knitting needles and work with rib C between selvage sts. In 10 cm from the beginning of collar, bind off the sts due to the pattern. For front placket, cast 121 (125) sts (each) along the edges of front, including the ends of collar with circular knitting needles and work with rib A between selvage sts, start with 1 WS row. At the same time, make 6 button-holes in the 3rd row of the right front (WS row). Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Sew the buttons.
