​Nice Knit Jacket

You’ll need:

350 (400) 450g of yarn with mohair content (130m/50g);

Knitting needles 3,5.

Size: XS (S) M.

Length – 72 cm.

Used Patterns

2 x 2 rib;

Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multipled 16 + 1 selvedge st. Work due to the scheme. In wrong-side rows - all sts are made due to the ornament, yarn overs – as purls. Repeat 1^st-8^th rows.

Wrong side: in right-side rows – purls, in wrong-side rows – knit sts.

Stitches control: on relief pattern: 23 sts x 31 row = 10 x 10 cm square.

Back

Cast on 114 (122) 130 sts and work with rib, starting with wrong-side row: 1 selvedge st, * 1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * to end of row, 1 selvedge st.

In 6 cm turn to relief pattern: 1 selvedge st, 7 pattern repeats, (1 selvedge st, 4 sts before pattern repeat, 7 pattern repeats, 4 sts after it, 1 selvedge st), 1 selvedge st, 8 pattern repeats, 1 selvedge st.

Then, knit straight for 61 cm. Bind off 5 sts x 1 from both sides for shoulders, then, 5 sts x 2 in a row and 6 (7)8 sts x 4.

At the same time, after 63 cm, bind off the central 18 sts for the neck-hole. Continue knitting each part from separate skein. For smooth rounding, bind off 3 sts x 3 in every even row.

Left Front

Cast on 39 (43) 47 sts and make rib, starting with wrong-side row: 1 selvedge st, * 1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * to end of row, 1 selvedge st.

In 6 cm turn to relief pattern: 1 selvedge st, 2 pattern repeats, 4 sts after it, 1 purl, 1 selvedge st, (1 selvedge st, 4 sts before pattern repeat, 2 pattern repeats, 4 sts after it, 1 purl, 1 selvedge st), 1 selvedge st, 2 pattern repeats, 1^st-13^th sts of pattern repeat once, 1 selvedge st.

Then, continue working to the needed height – see the schemes. For shoulder chamfers – repeat the scheme of back.

Right Front

Make in reflection to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 50 (54) 54 sts and make rib, starting with the wrong-side row: : 1 selvedge st, * 1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to * to end of row, 1 selvedge st.

For sleeves widening increase 1 st x 10 from both sides in every 8^th row, 1 st x 10 times in every 6^th row, 1 st x 10, (1 st x 4 in every 8^th row, 1 st x 18 in every 6^th row). 1 st x 20 in every 6^th row, 1 st x 4 in every 4^th row. There are 90 (98) 106 sts on the knitting needles.

Bind off the sts at 47 (46) 45 cm height.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Lift 404 sts for the placket: 180 sts on each front, 44 sts along the neck-hole and back.

Make rib, starting from the wrong side row: 1 selvedge st, * 2 purls, 2 knit sts*; repeat from * to *, finish with 2 purls, 1 selvedge st.

After 6 cm, bind off the sts due to the ornament. Sew the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
