MATERIALS

Worsted weight cotton yarn ~50 yards per scrubbie

(We Crochet Dishie Cotton yarn Worsted Weight)

5.00mm/H hook

Tapestry needle

Scissors

NOTES:

This project is made by crocheting a rectangle and then crocheting together the sides.

You can choose to enclose one side (making it a tube) OR enclose two sides (making it a mitt). I find both variations useful in cleaning as the tube allows more control and able to quickly rotate to a clean side. The mitt version (encloses the fingers) is great for cleaning bottoms of mugs/cups as well as dusting blinds.

Beginning chain does not count as a stitch.

To make the scrubby wider, add more rows.

To make the scrubby taller, add more chains to the first row in multiples of 2.

Dimensions: 3.5” x 4.5”

Abbreviations: (US terms)

Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, dc = double crochet, st = stitch

PATTERN

Row 1: Ch 20, dc in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch, *dc in next ch, sc in next ch, repeat from * across, turn

Row 2: Ch 1, *dc in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * across

Repeat Row 2 until you have a total of 24 rows

DO NOT FASTEN OFF

Assembly

Single crochet the last and first row together.

If you want the scrubbie to be a tube, you can fasten off and weave in ends now.

If you want the scrubbie enclosed completely around the fingers, make 3 single crochets at the end of the row and continue to single crochet together the next side. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Turn inside out so the seam is on the inside.
