Knit Top with Open Back

You’ll need:

250 (300)g of Linie 139 Cicada yarn;

Knitting needles 5-6 mm;

Crochet hook 5 mm.

Size: S (M).

Chest circumference: 85 (89) cm.

Stitches control: 14 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Front and Back

Cast on 120 (128) sts and work with stockinette stitch. After 4 cm, place markers for 4 gores: 20^th st, 40^th st, 80^th st and 100^th st (21^st st, 43^rd st, 85^th st, 107^th st). Make broaching (slip 1 knit st, 1 knit st, draw it through the slipped st) before the marked sts in the next row and 3 times in every 6^th row, make knit2tog after the marked sts = 88 (96) sts. For increases: increase 4 x 1 st from both sides of marked sts in every 8^th row = 120 (128) sts. When the height of work is 26 cm, bind off 5 (7) sts for the neck-hole from both sides, then, decrease 1 x 4 sts, 3 x 3 sts, 4 x 2 sts, 8 x 1 st in a row, then, 6 x 1 st in every row = 40 (44) sts. When the height of work is 55 cm, bind off 5 (7) sts for each shoulder, transfer the rest 30 sts to the auxiliary needle.

Small Back Detail of Collar

Cast on 40 (44) and work with stockinette stitch. Decrease 9 (10) x 1 st from both sides in a row, bind off the rest 4 sts.

Assembly

Cast on 30 sts for the collar along the back detail of collar, catch the previously left 30 sts of front, knit all 60 sts around with stockinette stitch for 10 cm, then, 2 rows of purls, bind off the sts loosely. Connect the shoulder seams. Join the top along back and leave 11 cm of waist, fasten the edge with 1 row of single crochets. Make 5 chains in 2 threads of yarn in the following way: fold the yarn of 3 m long in half, join to the back with slip st, make a chain of 20-22 cm long and join to the upper detail of collar.
