Pomegranate Knit Jacket
You’ll need:
1000 (1100; 1100; 1200)g of Norte yarn (100% merino wool; 80m/100g) in pomegranate color (# 20);
Knitting needles 8.
Size: XL (XXL; XXXL; XXXXL).
Used Patterns
Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;
Looped pattern: 1st, 3rd and 5th row: knit;
2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th row: purl;
7th row (RS): 1 knit st, * 1 knit st, without slipping it from LH needle, transfer the yarn in front of work and place it between needles, make yarn over, twist around LH thumb, transfer the yarn behind and place between needles, make the same st as knit st and slip it from LH needle. Repeat decrease, drawing the 1st st through the 2nd st*; repeat from * to *, finish with 1 knit st.
Repeat 1st-8th rows.
Note
Make decreases in the following way: in the beginning of RS row: 2 knit sts, slip 1 st, 1 knit st, draw it through the slipped stl in the end of RS row (there are 4 sts in work): knit2tog, 2 knit st.
Stitches control: 11 sts x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Back
Cast on 58 (63; 67; 73) sts and make 8 rows of stockinette stitch = 5 cm. Next row (RS): purl. Then, make 8 rows of stockinette stitch. Next row (WS): knit. Continue work with looped pattern. For arm-holes, bind off 1 st from both sides at 47 cm height and 4 (5; 6; 7) x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides = 48 (51; 53; 57) sts. At 69 (70; 71; 72) cm height, bind off the rest sts.
Right Front
Cast on 22 (24; 26; 29) sts and work with looped pattern. Starting with the 5th row, increase 1 st from both sides, then, 1 x 1 st in every 2nd and 4th rows = 28 (30; 32; 35) sts. For arm-holes, bind off 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row, starting from WS row, at 37 cm height, decrease 4 (5; 6; 7) x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides in the next 8 RS rows. For neck-hole, bind off 7 x 1 st in every 2nd and 4th rows, starting from RS, at 42 (43; 44; 45) cm height of front. At 59 (60; 61; 62) cm height, bind off the rest 15 (16; 17; 19) sts of shoulder.
Left Front
Make in symmetry to the right front.
Sleeves
Cast on 27 (27; 28; 28) sts and make 8 rows = 5 cm of stockinette stitch. Next row (RS): purl. Then, make 8 rows of stockinette stitch. Next row (WS): knit. Continue work with looped pattern to 24 cm height, then, increase 5 (6; 7; 8) x 1 st from both sides. Make increases in every 6th (6th; 4th; 6th) rows = 37 (39; 42; 44) sts. For sleeve caps, decrease 12 (13; 14; 15) x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides at 50 cm height. At 67 (68; 69; 70) cm height, bind off the rest 13 (13; 14; 14) sts.
Assembly
Make shoulder seams. Lift 102 (108; 114; 120) sts along the neck-hole form WS of front, start form the center of back neck-hole. Next row (RS): purl. Then, make 8 rows of stockinette stitch. Next row (WS): knit. Make 8 rows of stockinette stitch, then, bind off the sts. Make side and sleeve seams.
