Steel crochet hook No. 7.
FRONT SECTION: With Green ch 63, d c in 4th st from hook, 1 d c in each remaining st of ch, ch 3 to turn all rows. (The ch 3 always counts as 1 d c at beginning of each row.)
2nd and 3rd Rows. 1 d c in each st (61 sts).
4th Row. 1 d c in each of the next 6 d c, * ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in next d c, repeat from * 15 times, 1 d c in each of the next 6 sts.
5th Row. 1 d c in each of the next 6 d c, ** ch 2, skip 1 mesh, d c in next d c, * 1 d c in each of the next 2 sts of next mesh, d c in next d c, repeat from * once, repeat from ** 4 times, ch 2, skip the mesh, 1 d c in each of the last 7 sts.
6th and 7th Rows. 1 d c in each of the next 6 sts, * ch 2, skip 1 mesh, 1 d c in each of the next 7 d c, repeat from * 4 times, ch 2, skip 1 mesh, 1 d c in each of the last 7 sts.
8th Row. 1 d c in each of the next 6 sts, ** ch 2, skip 1 mesh, d c in next d c, * ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in next d c, repeat from * once, repeat from ** 4 times, ch 2, skip 1 mesh, 1 d c in each of the last 7 sts. Repeat the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th rows 4 times.
25th Row. Work 1 d c in each d c and 1 d c in each of the 2 sts of each mesh.
26th and 27th Rows. 1 d c in each d c, cut thread.
The pattern is woven in using double strand of thread through each mesh lengthwise, working over 1 d c and under next d c reversing the over and under of each double strand. Starting at 1st row of meshes, work 1 row Blue, 1 row Buttercup and 1 row Red in each of the 6 rows of meshes. Working vertically, work remainder of free meshes in same manner working over and under the Green bars only.
BACK SECTION: With Green work the 1st 3 rows same as front section. Then work next 24 rows even. Without cutting thread, place the 2 sections together with right side of each section facing outward.
Crochet a row of s c all around, working 3 s c in each corner st, join, cut thread.
Cover a bone ring with s c and attach to one corner of potholder.
