Crochet Ninja Turtle

Doll measures a little over 13inches tall.

Poly Fiber Fill
Light Grey Felt (small pieces for the belts)
White Felt (small pieces for the eyes)
Tapestry Needle (to FO with & Make Toes)
2 Wooden Skewers (for the weapons, cut and sized to fit)
Craft Paint in Brown, Black & Grey (for the weapons/initials)
Craft Glue or Hot Glue Gun

I used 9mm Saftey Eyes on one doll and size 12mm on the other because of I ran out of 9's.
So use whatever you prefer.


To make the Head & Body: with Spring Green & D Hook
Ch2
Row 1. 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc in the next st-18sts.
Row 4. 1sc in 2, 2sc in the next st-24sts.
Row 5. 1sc in 3, 2sc in the next st-30sts.
Row 6. 1sc in 4, 2sc in the next st-36sts.
Row 7. 1sc in 36sts
Rows 8-11. Repeat row 7
Put the eyes in about the 11 or 12th row counting from the top of the head down.
Row 12. 1sc in 4, 2sc in 6sts, 1sc in 16, 2sc in 6sts, 1sc in 4sts-48sts.

When making the next leg, you want the muscles to be on the other side. So reverse the sts. I had to work with them a little bit to get it right.

Do not seal up the legs, wk 5 or 7 hdc sts along the outside of the legs, then wk 6 or 7 sc sts and FO. Stuff the top part of the legs and sew to the body.

Stuff arms lightly but stuff to define the muscles.

To make the Leg Bands: with Red/Amethyst Yarn & D Hook (make 2)

Row 1. 1slst in 18sts across, ch19, wk 1slst in each st across and FO.
Sew bands around each arm.

To make the Arm Bands: with Red/Amethyst Yarn & D Hook (make 2)

Row 1. 1slst in 15sts, ch16 and repeat.

To make the Wrist Bands: with Red/Amethyst Yarn & D Hook (make 2)
Ch10, wk 1slst in 9 and FO. Sew it around the wrist area.

To make the Turtle Shell: with Forest Green Yarn & D Hook

Row 9. 1sc in 7, 2sc in the next st-54sts.
Row 10. 1sc in 8, 2sc in the next st-60sts.

Make 2nd piece by repeating rows 1-10, put the 2 pieces together and wk 1slst in the BLO in one piece and the FLO in the next piece, stuff and FO.

To make the Chest Plate: with Pale Yellow Yarn & D Hook

Row 5. 1sc in 12sts, ch1 & turn.
Rows 6-11. 1sc in 12sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 12. dec1sc, 1sc in 8sts, dec1sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 13. 1sc in 10sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 14. dec1sc, 1sc in 6sts, dec1sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 15. 1sc in 3, 1slst in 2, 1sc in 3, ch1 & turn.

Change to Warm Brown

Sew to the front of the doll. (Optional I used brown eye shadow and a make up brush to put the lines on the front of the chest plates).

To make the Belt: with Warm Brown & D Hook

Row 1. wk 1hdc in the 2nd st from the hook and in each st across and FO.
Sew the belt to the back of the shell, wrap it around the front and sew in place.
With light grey felt cut out a tiny circle, paint initials on hot glue in place.

To make the side Strap: with Warm Brown & D Hook
