You’ll need:

400 (450)g of burgundy yarn (55% wool, 45% polyester; 85m/50g);

250g of the same yarn, but in blue color;

Knitting needles 10;

Circular knitting needles 10.

Size: S (M).

Note: make stripped pattern with circular knitting needles.

Used Patterns

2 x 2 rib: the quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2 + 2 selvage sts.

Garter stitch: knit sts;

Colors order: * 22 blue rows, 22 burgundy rows*; repeat from * to *;

Stripped pattern: due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Repeat 1st-10th rows.

Note: replace sts to the beginning of row after the 8th and 10th row due to the scheme, as 2 WS and 2 RS rows go on end.

Stitches control: garter stitch: 12 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Stripped pattern: 12 sts x 19,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 56 (60) sts with burgundy yarn and make 10 cm with 2 x 2 rib for placket. Continue work with garter stitch due to the colors order. Increase 5 x 1 st in every 8th row (6 x 1 st in every 6th row) from placket for side chamfers = 66 (72) sts. In 20 cm = 44 rows from placket, bind off 1 x 2 sts from both sides for raglan chamfer, then, bind off 21 x 1 st in every 2nd and 4th rows. In 50 cm = 110 rows from placket, leave the rest 20 (26) sts for neck-hole.

Front

Make in the same way, as back.

Sleeves

Cast on 26 (30) sts with burgundy yarn and make 15 cm with 2 x 2 rib for placket, finish with 2 purls, 1 selvage st; continue work with stripped pattern on circular knitting needles. At the same time, increase 6 x 1 st in every 4th row from both sides for sleeve chamfers and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row = 44 (48) sts. In 17,5 cm = 34 rows from placket, bind off 1 x 2 sts from both sides for raglan chamfer, then, bind off 15 x 1 st in every 4th row. In 51,5 cm = 100 rows from the set-up row, leave the rest 10 (14) sts for neck-hole.

Assembly

Make raglan seams. For collar, cast on the previously left sts of back, 1st sleeve, front and 2nd sleeve with burgundy yarn and work on all 60 (68) sts with 2 x 2 rib with circle rows, make the corresponding selvage sts in the 1st circle row = 56 (76) sts. In 21 cm from the beginning of collar, bind off all sts. Make side and sleeve seams, don’t sew front and back plackets for size cuts.
