Relief Summer Poncho
Relief Summer Poncho

You’ll need:

350 (400)g of yellow-pink Seda-Mar yarn (88% silk, 12% polyamide; 185m/50g);

Circle knitting needles 5;

Crochet hook 4.

Size: S (M-L).

Used Patterns

Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 24 + 2 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Start with 1 selvage st and st before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with st after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1st-12th rows.

Lace edge: the initial quantity of sts is multiple 12. Work due to the scheme for crochet hook with circle rows along the edges of knit details. Start every circle row with 1 chain st increase instead of the 1st single crochet or 3 chain sts increase instead of the 1st double crochet and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 slip st in upper chain st increase. Make 1st-6th circle rows x once, make double crochets and single crochets under arch of chain sts of the previous circle row in the 4th and 6th rows.

Note: initial and final sts are meant as 1 pattern repeat in the instructions.

Instructions

Cast on 12 (18) sts and work with relief pattern, make the central 10 (16) sts of pattern repeat between selvage sts. For chamfers, cast on sts from both sides, starting from the set-up row, bind off 4 x 6 (8) sts, 13 x 4 sts and 1 x 4 (5) sts in every 2nd row and include them in the pattern = 172 (196) sts. Bind off the central 72 sts for neck-hole in the 120th (132nd row) form the set-up row. In 46 cm = 120 rows (51 cm = 132 rows) from the set-up row, the middle of shoulder is reached. Make back in symmetry, but make decreases instead of increases. Cast on the central 72 sts again in the 1st row from shoulder line and work due to the pattern. In 32 cm = 84 rows (37 cm = 96 rows) from shoulder line, make decreases for chamfers. In 92 cm = 240 rows (102 cm = 264 rows) from set-up row, bind off the rest 12 (18) sts.

Assembly

Fasten neck-hole with 6,5 cm = 6 circle rows of lace edge, make 120 single crochets = 10 pattern repeats with the help of crochet hook in the 1st circle row. For strap, make 220 chain sts and fasten in with 1 row of slip sts. Draw the strap from/to the middle of front through the 3rd circle row of crochet pattern. Fasten the outer edge with 6,5 cm = 6 circle rows of lace edge, make 180 (204) single crochets = 15 (17) pattern repeats along the gored edge in the 1st circle row, make 108 (132) single crochets along each short edge = 9 (11) pattern repeats, totally, 576 (672) single crochets or 48 (56) pattern repeats.
