​Jacket with a Scarf

You’ll need:

500g of beige Fumo (29% merino wool, 20% mohair, 28% acryl, 23% polyamide; 120m/50g);

Straight and long double-pointed knitting needles 4,5-5;

Crochet hook 5;

6 buttons.

Size: S.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Rib 1: 1^st row: 1 selvage st, * 4 purls, slip 1 st with yarn over as purl*; repeat from * to *, finish with 4 purls, 1 selvage st;

2^nd row: 1 selvage st, 4 knit sts, * st with yarn over of the previous row as purl2tog, 4 knit sts*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvage st.

Repeat 1^st-2^nd rows.

Rib 2: make in the same way, as rib 1, but make 3 purls, 1 slip st by turn;

Half-patent pattern: the quantity of sts is odd. RS row: 1 selvage st, * 1 purl, slip 1 st with yarn over as purl*; repeat from * to *, finish with 1 purl, 1 selvage;

WS row: 1 selvage st, * 1 knit st, st with yarn from the previous rows as purl2tog*; repeat from * to *, 1 knit st, 1 selvage st.

Stitches control: ribs and half-patent pattern: 14 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 96 sts and work with rib 1. At 35 cm height, decrease 1 st in every 2^nd stripe of purls (i.e. make the 2^nd and 3^rd sts together as purl). At 45 cm height, decrease 1 st in every skipped stripe of purls = 77 sts and make 3 purls, 1 slip st by turn = rib 2. At 51 cm height, continue work with half-patent pattern. At 61 cm height, bind off 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from both sides for arm-holes = 61 sts. At 82 cm height, bind off the central 11 sts for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately, bind off 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 1 st from inwards. At the same time, bind off 1 x 6 sts and 3 x 4 sts in every 2^nd row from outer edge for shoulder chamfers with the beginning of neck-hole line.

Left Front

Cast on 48 sts and work with rib 1, finish with 1 slipped st, 1 purl, 1 selvage st. At 32 cm height, leave the central 19 sts for the pocket cut-out, finish the row and leave your work. Cast on 19 sts again for the pocket bag and make 16 cm of stockinette stitch. Then, include the sts of pocket bag in work instead of the previously left sts and knit in all the sts again. At 35 and 45 cm height, make decreases in rib in the same way, as for back = 39 sts. At 51 cm height, continue work with half-patent pattern. At 61 cm height, bind off 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the right side for arm-hole = 31 sts. At 79 cm height, bind off 1 x 6 sts, 1 x 3 sts and 4 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the left side for neck-hole. Make shoulder chamfer in the same way, as for back.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 45 sts and work with rib 2 between selvage sts. At 30 cm height, increase 1 st from both sides for sleeve chamfers, then, 2 x 1 st in every 8^th row and 1 x 1 st in the next 6^th row = 53 sts. At the same time, at 32 cm height, continue work with half-patent pattern on all the sts. At 42 cm height, bind off 1 x 3 sts, 14 x 1 st, 1 x 2 sts, 1 x 3 sts in every 2^nd row from both sides and bind off the rest 9 sts.

Assembly

Transfer the previously left sts of front to the knitting needles, make 2,5 cm with half-patent pattern for pockets and then, bind off the sts. Sew short sides of plackets, bag of pockets from WS. Make shoulder seams. For neck-hole placket, cast on 63 sts with circular knitting needles, make 1 WS row with knit sts, then, 5 rows of stockinette stitch, 1 WS row of knit sts = fold, then, 4 rows of stockinette stitch, bind off the sts in the 5^th row. Turn down the placket along the fold line and sew. Cast on 116 sts along the edges of front and make in the same way, as neck-hole placket, make 6 double button-holes on the right front. For this, make 1 yarn over and make knit2tog in the 3^rd row of stockinette stitch and in the 2^nd row after fold. Make the first button-hole in 15 cm from the lower edge, all the rest – with 11 cm interval. Make side and sleeve seams. Sew up the sleeves, sew buttons.

Scarf

Cast on 37 sts and make * 20 cm of half-patent pattern, 20 cm of rib2*; repeat from * to * x 4 times, finish 20 rows of half-patent pattern = bind off the sts at 220 cm length. Make 9 tassels of fringe in short ends of scarf: cut 5 threads 50 cm long for each tassel and fold them in half.
