Cozy Knit Sweater
You’ll need:
1000g of mélange pink yarn Luxury Tweed Chunky (85% wool, 15% angora; 100m/100g);
Straight knitting needles 6 and 8;
Double pointed and circular knitting needles 6;
Crochet hook 6 and 8.
Size: S (M) L.
Used Patterns
Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS rows – purls, in circle rows – knit sts;
Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS rows – knit sts, in circle rows – purls;
Vertical pattern: 3 sts of wrong-side pattern, 3 sts of stockinette stitch. Make WS rows due to the pattern.
Single crochets: start every row with 1 chain st and finish with 1 slip st in the 1st single crochet;
Double crochets: start every row with 3 chain sta and finish with 1 slip st in the 1st double crochet.
Stitches control: stockinette stitch, knitting needles 8: 11 sts x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Note: work as one-piece cloth, start from front across shoulders.
Instructions
Cast on 50 (56) 56 sts and make 10 cm of vertical pattern between selvage sts. Then, transfer your work to knitting needles 8 and work with stockinette stitch, increase 2 (0) 4 sts in the 1st row = 52 (56) 60 sts. In 10 cm from the placket, increase 1 x 1 st from both sides for sleeves widening, then, 6 x 1 st in every 4th row, after that, 7 x 6 sts and 1 x 7 sts (5 x 5 sts, 2 x 7 sts and 1 x 8 sts) 3 x 5 sts and 5 x 6 sts in every 2nd row = 164 sts.
In 38 cm from the placket, bind off the central 12 sts for front neck-hole and finish both sides separately. Then, bind off 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. In 50 cm from the placket, the line of shoulder is reached. For back neck-hole, cast on 22 sts in 2 cm from shoulder line between the two sides and knit on all 164 sts to the end in symmetry, increases will become decreases.
In 50 cm from shoulder line, transfer your work to knitting needles 6 and work with vertical pattern for back placket, decrease 2 (0) 4 sts in this 1st row. At 10 cm height of the placket, bind off all the sts due to the pattern. Cast on 60 sts along the neck-hole line and work with vertical pattern for the collar.
At 8 cm height of the collar, make 1 knit st from cross transversal thread in every 2nd stripe of knit sts for widening. At 16 cm height of the collar, also make 1 knit st from cross transversal thread. At 20 cm height of the collar, bind off all the 70 sts and bind off the sts due to the pattern. Make side and lower sleeves seams.
Cast on 30 sts along the edges of sleeves with double-pointed knitting needles and work with vertical pattern. At 6 cm height of the placket, bind off the central purl for thumb hole in the stripe of purls, which is in the middle of front and make 2 cm of straight and reversed. Then, cast on this st again and work with circle rows on all the sts. At 15 cm height of the placket, bind off all the sts.
