When I had my dachshunds (16 & 17 yrs when they passed away) I was always making sweaters for them. They had a regular wardrobe of them! What kind of dog do you have, and what part of the country are you in? Real cold weather area? I'm in the south so it's not as bad as some areas. But it does get cold here, and once is a blue moon we do get snow. Actually got over a foot once, and the dogs had a ball!

Good luck making sweaters for yours!

I have a chihuahua and live in Florida. I'm making my Prince a sweater now for the few weeks we get cold here. It's wonderful that you get to see snow occasionally!

I had dachshunds (one male, one female) and made sweaters almost exactly like this one. But I made one adjustment on the one for my female. I made the under-side longer (and adjusted it for her waist size) so that it came all the way back to her hind legs. That way her whole belly was kept warm. Of course I couldn't do that for the one for my male. He had something in the way! But my little girl loved it!
