Stylish Knit Beret

You’ll need:

1 skein of any type of yarn (100m/100g);

Knitting needles 5, 6 and 8;

Stitch markers.

Size

Head circumference: 54-56 cm (with knitting needles 6).

Instructions

Cast on 56 sts + 1 st for circle in the ring with knitting needles 6. Place marker and work with 1 x 1 rib for 7-8 rows.

Make increases in every 2 sts x 28 times, totally, 84 sts.

Turn to knitting needles 8 and make 14-15 rows with stockinette stitch.

Start making decrease:

1st row: 10 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline – to the end of row;

2nd row: knit;

3rd row: 9 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline – to the end of row;

4throw: knit;

5throw: 8 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline – to the end o frow;

6throw: knit;

7throw: 7 knit ts, knit2tog with left decline – to the end of row;

8throw: knit;

9throw: 6 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline – to the end of row;

10throw: knit;

11throw: 5 knit sts, knit2tog with left decline – to the end of row;

12throw: knit;

13th row: make decreases in every row due to the previously described scheme, until there are 4 sts left.

Turn to knitting needles 5 and make a “tail”: 6 rows of stockinette stitch, decrease until 2 sts and bind off the sts, weave in the ends.
