You’ll need:

13 (14) 15 skeins of middle weight yarn (70% wool, 30% camel wool; 125m/50g);

Knitting needles 4,5 and 5;

Circle knitting needles 4,5.

Used Patterns

Rib (pic. 1) in straight rows. The quantity of sts is multipled 4 + 2 selvedge sts.

RS row: 1 selvedge st, *2 knit st, 2 purls*, 1 selvedge st;

WS row: due to the ornament.

Rib with circle rows. The quantity of sts is multipled 4. Make 2 knit sts and 2 purls by turn.

Only RS rows are stated on the schemes of the following rows, make WS rows due to the ornament.

Honeycomb pattern (pic. 2): the quantity of sts is multipled 8. See the description below. Repeat 1st-8th rows.

Cables (A) on 8 sts (pic. 3) – knit due to the scheme 2 A. Repeat 1st-8th rows.

Cables (B) on 8 sts (pic. 4) – knit due to the scheme 2 B. Repeat 1st-8th rows.

Central cables on 62 sts (pic. 5) – knit due to the scheme 3. Repeat 1st-24th rows.

Stitches control: 29 sts х 30 rows = 10 х 10 cm.

Size: XS (S) M.


Instructions

Back

Cast on 150-158-166 sts with knitting needles 4,5 and make 4 cm with pattern 1 for the placket, increase 2 sts in the last WS row = 152-160-168 sts. Continue work with knitting needles 5: 1 selvedge st, 36-40-44 sts with pattern 2, for sizes XS and M constantly repeat the pattern, finish with sts before arrow, for size S constantly repeat the pattern, 8 sts of pattern 3, 62 sts of pattern 5, 8 sts of pattern 4, 36-40-44 sts of pattern 2, for sizes XS and M start with sts from the arrow, then, repeat the pattern, for size S repeat the pattern all the times, 1 selvedge st.

After 52,5 cm = 160 rows from the placket, bind off the central 64 sts for smooth neck-hole rounding and finish both parts separately.

Bind off 1 st x 2 in every 2nd row along the inner edge. After 54,5 cm = 166 rows from the placket, bind off the last 42-46-50 sts for shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole, at 48 cm = 146 rows from the placket, bind off the central 60 sts, after that bind off 1 st x 4 in every 2nd row.

Sleeves

Cast on 70-78-86 sts with knitting needles 4,5 for each sleeve and make 4 cm with pattern 1 for the placket, increase 2 sts in the last WS row = 72-80-88 sts.

Continue work with knitting needles 5: 1 selvedge st, 4-8-12 sts of pattern 2, for size XS make sts before arrow once, for size S make pattern repeat once and for size M make pattern repeat once and finish with sts before arrow. 62 sts of pattern 5, 4-8-12 sts of pattern 2, for size XS make sts before arrow once, for size S make pattern repeat once, for size M start with sts before arrow, pattern repeat once, 1 selvedge st.

At the same time, increase 1 st x 3 from both sides in every 6th row for sleeve chamfers, 1 st x 17 of pattern 2 = 112-120-128 sts. After 29,5 cm = 90 rows from the placket, bind off all the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 144 sts along the neck-hole with circle needles for the placket and work with circle rows of pattern 1. At 10 cm width of the placket, bind off all the sts, fold the placket inwards in half and sew.

Sew the sleeves, make side seams.
