You’ll need:
300g of yarn (75% viscose, 25% linen; 77m/50g) of sandy color;
Crochet hook 5;
Leather handles;
1 button Ø 3 cm.
Size: 30 на 40 cm (without handles).
Main Pattern
Crochet around. Change the 1st single crochet to 1 chain st increase to sart a new row. Finish each row with slip st in the chain st increase.
Stitches control: 14 single crochets x 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Start with the bottom part. Make 43 chain sts and fasten it with single crochets from both sides, totally, 42 single crochet on each side. Finish the row with slip st in the 1st chain st.
Increase 2 sts between the 42nd and 43rd sts and also between 84th and 1st sts of the next row, insert the crochet hook in the previously increased sts. As a result, there are 112 sts in work.
In 20 cm from the initial chain, divide the sts along the vertical lines of increases to the front part (= 56 sts) and back part (= 56 sts). Finish both parts separately. Work with straight/reversed rows for 10 cm.
Then, make folds: 10 single crochets, 7 sts in the fold, 22 single crochets, 7 sts in the fold, 10 single crochets. Totally, 42 single crochets. Then, crochet 14 cm more.
Assembly
Turn the upper edge of every detail of bag to 7 cm to the middle and sew, catching the folds to the whole depth. Fasten the sides with 1 row of single crochets along double upper parts, insert the crochet hook through both layers.
For the fastener, make 7 chain sts + 1 chain st increase and make 15 rows of single crochets – 7 single crochets in each row. Make button-hole in the 16th row: 2 single crochets, skip the next 3 sts, 3 chain sts above them, 2 single crochets. Crochet straight with 7 single crochets. Make decreases of 1 st from both sides in the 20th and 21st rows. Crochet the rest 3 sts together in the 23rd row.
Sew the fastener to the back of your bag in the center, connect it’s lower edge with the beginning of turn. Sew button to the front part of your bag. Sew the handles.
