You’ll need:

Plymouth Yarn Encore Tweed medium (worsted) weight acrylic/wool/rayon yarn (3 1/2 oz/200 yds/100g per ball): 1 [2, 2] ball(s) #5854 navy;

Crochet hooks 4 and 6 mm;

Tapestry needle;

Stitch markers.

Size: 8/9; changes for 10/11 and 12/13 are in [].

Slipper length:9 inches [9 3/4 inches, 10 1/2 inches]

Foot length: 10/10 1/2 inches [10 1/2/11 inches, 11 3/4/11 1/4 inches]


Stitches control:19 sc = 4 inches; 21 sc rows = 4 inches


Notes

Weave in loose ends as work progresses.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

Do not join rounds unless otherwise stated. Use stitch marker to mark rounds and move marker as work progresses.

Slippers

Make 2.


Sole

Row 1: Beg at heel, ch 13 [15, 15], sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each rem ch across, turn. (12 [14, 14] sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Rep row 2 until piece measures 5 [5 1/2, 6] inches.

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn. (14 [16, 16] sc)

Rep row 2 until piece measures 8 3/4 [9 1/2, 10 1/4] inches.

Row 4: Ch 1, sc dec (see Stitch Guide) in next 2 sc, sc in each of next 10 [12, 12] sc, sc dec in next 2 sc, turn. (12 [14, 14] sc)

Row 5: Ch 1, sc dec in next 2 sc, sc in each of next 8 [10, 10] sc, sc dec in next 2 sc. Fasten off. (10 [12, 12] sc)


Side

Rnd 1: Now working in rnds, working in opposite side of foundation ch of heel, join (see Pattern Notes) yarn in 6th [7th, 7th] ch, ch 1, sc in same ch as beg ch-1, sc in each of next 5 [6, 6] chs, work 36 [40, 44] sc evenly sp along side edge of Sole, 10 [12, 12] sc across toe front edge, 36 [40, 44] sc evenly sp along opposite side edge of Sole, join in beg sc. (96 [106, 114] sc)

Rnds 2-8 [2-9, 2-9]: Ch 1, working in back lp (see Stitch Guide) only, sc in each st around, do not join, place stitch marker (see Pattern Notes).

At the end of rnd 8 [9, 9], fasten off. Move stitch marker to 21st [25th, 27th] sc of rnd 8 [9, 9].


Top

Row 1 (RS): Now working in rows, ch 22 [24, 26], sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each of next 19 [21, 23] chs, place stitch marker, 4 sc in last ch (toe), place stitch marker, working on opposite side of foundation ch, sc in each of next 20 [22, 24] chs, turn. (44 [48, 52] sc)

Row 2 (WS): Working in front lp (see Stitch Guide) only, ch 1, sc in each st to marker, 2 sc in next st, sc in each st to 1 st before marker, 2 sc in next st, sc in each rem st across, turn. (46 [50, 54] sc)

Row 3: Working in back lp only, ch 1, sc in each st to marker, 2 sc in next st, sc in each st to 1 st before marker, 2 sc in next st, sc in each rem st across, turn. (48 [52, 56] sc)

Row 4: Rep row 2.(50 [54, 58] sc) Row 5: Rep row 3. (52 [56, 60] sc)

Row 6: Rep row 2, do not fasten on. (54 [58, 62] sc)


Assembly

Row 7: Holding Top on Side at marker, working through back lps only of Top and both lps on Side, ch 1, sc in each of next 54 [58, 62] sts, do not fasten off.


Trim

Rnd 1: Ch 1, working in ends of rows across Top, work 10 [11,12] sc evenly sp across, working in sts of Side, [sc in each of next 2 sc, sk next sc] around back of Slipper to first st of rnd 1, join in beg sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, reverse sc (see Stitch Guide) in each sc of rnd 1, join in beg sc. Fasten off.
