Materials
Small amounts of cotton worsted wt yarn for body, yellow for beak and feet, red for comb
Size G hook
Wiggly eye
Head
Rnd 1: Ch 4, 11 dc in first st, join (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in same place and 2 dc in each dc around. Join (24 dc) Finish off
Comb
Attach red in any dc (ch 2, 2 dc in same place, skip one dc, sl st in next dc) 3 times. Finish off
Beak
Row 1: Attach yellow in second dc after last st if comb. Ch 1, 1 sc in same place and in next 2 sc. Ch 1, turn (3 sc)
Row 2: Dec over next 2 sc, sc in next sc, ch 1 turn. (2 sc)
Row 3: Dec over 2 sc, finish off
Body
Rnds 1 and 2: Same as rounds 1 and 2 of head.
Rnd 3: Ch 3. 1 dc in same place (1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around. Join (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same place and next 2 sc, (2 sc in next dc, sc in next 3 sc) around. Join. Do not finish off but continue on to make tail
Tail: Sl st in next sc, sc in next sc, hdc in next sc, 2 dc in next 2 sc, 2 trc in next sc. Finish off.
Feet
In 13th st from beg of tail attach yellow. Ch 6, sl st in 2 sc, ch 3, sl st in 2 sc and in first sl st; ch 3, sl st in 2 sc and in first sl st; ch 3, sl st in 2 sc and in first sl st and first 2 sc. Finish off. Skip 2 sc and repeat for other leg.
Sew head to body as shown. Glue on wiggly eye. Spray with spray starch to block.
