Crochet Neck Warmer

Materials:
- Size I, 5.5 mm crochet hook
- Medium weight yarn (size 4), I used Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn in “Spa”. 1 skein needed (7 oz, 199 grams, 355 yards)
- Tapestry needle

13 sts x 6 rows = 4″ square
Abbreviations:
ch- chain
st(s)- stitch(es)
hk- hook
sc- single crochet
dc- double crochet
fpdc- front post double crochet
back post double crochet- back post double crochet
sk- skip
sp- space
Pattern:
Ch 98
Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from the hk and each ch to end, turn (96).
Row 2: Ch 2, *fpdc, bpdc,* repeat from * to end, turn (96).
Row 3: Ch 2, *bpdc, fpdc,* repeat from * to end, turn (96).
Rows 4-15: Alternate rows 2 and 3.
Fold one side over the other to form a V in the front.
Border:
Round 1: Continue with color A to sc evenly around the neck warmer (sc through both sides where they overlap).
Sl st in first st to join.
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as a stitch), *sk first st, dc in next,* repeat from * around, sl st at the top of the ch 2 to join.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Collar Neckline:
Pick up a st on the top end of the collar and ch 1. Evenly sc in each st around the top of the neckline.
Fasten off, weave in ends.
Fringe:
Cut long pieces of yarn approx. 10″ long. Take 3 strands together and fold in half.
Pull the middle strands through the middle space of the neck warmer, yarn over and pull through all strands.
Repeat the fringe every 2 spaces.
Trim to 3.5″ or desired length.
