  • Gauge Swatch

  • Round 1 - 1 single crochet in the 2nd chain from the hook, 1 single crochet in each stitch to the end, turn. [30 single crochet]

Strap

  • Options - you can either make a wrist strap or a crossbody strap for this pouch:

  • Wrist strap, color C – ch50, 1sc in 2nd ch from hk, 1sc in next st, 1sc in the next 48-sts, rotate the piece to work on the other side of the ch, sl st in each st to the end, cut yarn, leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off.

  • Crossbody strap, color C – start with a long yarn tail (use this for sewing later), crochet as many chains as needed to get your desired length, then 1sc in 2nd ch from hk, 1sc in each st to the end, rotate the piece to work on the other side of the ch, sl st in each st to the end, cut yarn, leave a long tail for sewing and fasten off.

Finish

  • Lay the purse flat so that the buttonhole is facing up, position the button on the inside back of the purse, and sew it into place.

  • Wrist strap - Fold the strap in half and sew the two ends together using the end tail yarn, then sew the strap to the outside of one side of the bag, fasten it off, and weave in the ends.
