Materials:
- 3.5 mm Crochet hook
- 10g Yellow yarn DK weight/Sport weight(I used stylecraft special DK – saffron )
- scrap amount of Orange and Brown yarn DK weight/sport weight(I used stylecraft special DK – Tomato and Dark brown )
- Scissors
- Darning needle
- Cream egg/ The egg you want to cover (It’s best to have one on hand to make sure it’s the right size)

Round 1: 6 Sc in to MC (6)
Round 2: Inc x 6 (12)
Round 3: (2Sc , Inc) x 4 (16)
Round 4: (3Sc, Inc) x 4 (20)
Round 5: (4Sc, Inc) x 4 (24)
Round 6: (5Sc, Inc) x 4 (28)
Round 7: (6Sc, Inc) x 4 (32)
Round 8-13: SC in each stitch around for 7 Rounds
Round 14: (2Sc, dec) x 8 (24)
Round 15: (10Sc, dec) x 2 (22)
Round 16: Sc in each stitch around
Test to see if the egg fits. Then Finish off and weave in ends
Wings:(Make 2)
Create a Magic circle
Round 1: 6Sc in MC (6)
Round 2: Inc x 6 (12)
Fold in half and make 3Sc through both sides
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing. Attach with closed side to the body.
Beak:
Row 1: Chain 4
Row 2: In second chain from the hook Slip stitch, Sc, HDC (3)
Fasten off leaving a long tail for attaching to the body.
Sew on beak and use it as a guide for eye placement. The eyes are embroidered on between two stitches about half way down.
