Materials
-worsted weight (4) yarn in beige, medium brown, red, pink, yellow, and green. Here's what I used:
Bread: Bernat Super Value - Oatmeal and small amount of Topaz
Tomato: Red Heart Super Saver - Cherry Red
Ham: Lion Brand Vanna's Choice - Pink
Cheese: Bernat Phentex - Sol
Lettuce: Bernat Super Value - Lush
-size 4.00mm crochet hook
-yarn needle (for weaving ends)
Stitches (US Terms)
st(s) - stitch(es)
ch - chain
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
inc - increase (2 sts in same st)
sl st - slip stitch
sk - skip
Bread x 2
Starting with Oatmeal or beige
Row 1: ch 23, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn
Row 2: ch 1, hdc in each sc across, turn
Row 3: ch 2, hdc between each st, as pictured, turn
Row 4: ch 2, hdc in each V, as pictured, turn
Repeat Rows 3 and 4 until there are 12 rows total.
Crust
Row 1: sk first 2 sts, in next st make 5 dc, dc in next 16 sts, in next st make 5 dc, sk 2 sts, change to Topaz or medium brown yarn, evenly sc along row sides, continue onto bottom of foundation chain, along opposite row sides, make 2 hdc in each of the next 5 dc, sc across, make 2 hdc in each of the next 5 dc, sl st to first st, fasten off and weave ends.
Ham
Row 1: ch 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn
Row 2: ch 2, dc in each st across, turn
Repeat Row 2 until there are 11 rows total.
Border: ch 1, sc across and continue evenly along row sides, bottom of foundation ch, and opposite row sides, sl st to first st, fasten off and weave ends.
Cheese
Row 1: ch 18, sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn
Row 2: ch 1, sc in each st across, turn
Repeat Row 2 until there are 18 rows total, fasten off and weave ends.
Lettuce
Starting ch does not count as st. Sl st to first st to join at end of each round. Do not turn.
Round 1: in magic ring make 12 dc, sl st to join
Round 2: ch 3, inc in each st
Round 3: ch 3, [dc inc in next st, dc in next st] around
Round 4: ch 2, [hdc inc in next st, hdc in next st] around
Round 5: ch 2, *hdc in next st, dc inc in next st, dc in next st, hdc inc in next st* complete this sequence around, alternating with hdc and dc to give it an uneven lettuce-like border. Fasten off and weave ends.
Tomato
Starting ch does not count as st. Sl st to first st to join at end of each round. Do not turn.
Round 1: in magic ring make [3 dc, ch 1] x 5 for a total of 5 sets of 3 dc and 5 ch 1 spaces. Fasten off and weave ends.
Round 2: in any ch 1 space join yarn with standing stitch or sl st and ch 3, make [3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc] in same ch 1 space
Round 3: ch 3, dc in next st, *hdc in next st, hdc in ch space, hdc in next st, dc in next 5 sts, repeat from * to end
Round 4: ch 1, [sc in next 5 sts, inc in next st] x 6
Fasten off and eave ends.
