How to Knit a Beautiful Toddler Dress

You Will Need:

200g of mixed content yarn (cotton/acryl; 188m/100g) of yellow color;

Turquoise or blue yarn for flowers;

Knitting needles size 4.5;

Embroidery needle.

Size Specifications

12-18 months: length - 28 cm, chest circumference - 48 cm;

2-3 years: length - 32 cm, chest circumference - 56 cm;

4-5 years: length - 36 cm, chest circumference - 61 cm.

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: all knit stitches;

Stockinette stitch: odd rows - knit stitches, even rows - purls.

Stitches Control

18 stitches x 38 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm square.

Instructions

Front

Start with the front part. Cast on 63 (75) 81 stitches and make 4 rows with garter stitch. Then, switch to stockinette stitch and knit straight fabric for 20.5 (23) 25.5 cm.

In the next row, knit every 2nd and 3rd stitches together as knit stitches. There will be 42 (50) 54 stitches left. Switch to garter stitch.

After 4 (4.5) 5 cm, bind off 4 (6) 6 stitches from both sides for the armhole. To form the armhole, decrease 1 stitch x 4 (5) 5 times, leaving you with 26 (28) 32 stitches.

After 3.5 (4.5) 5 cm, bind off the central 14 (16) 20 stitches. Make the two straps from separate balls - 6 stitches each.

If you want to fasten the bow with the straps, pay attention to its length.

This dress consists of two identical parts, so knit the back in the same way as the front. Sew the back and front parts together. Decorate your dress with flower embroidery (see the photo).
