​Light Crochet Child's Bonnet

You'll need:

1 skein of Lanoso Alara yarn (50% acryl, 50% cotton; 140m/50g);

Crochet hook 3;

Markers;

Scissors.

Instructions

Start crocheting with 2 chain sts.

1st row: make 6 single crochets in the 2nd st from the crochet hook.

2nd and all the next rows of the bottom start with 3 chain sts increase.

2nd row: 3 chain sts increase, 2 double crochets in each st.

3rd row: increase in every second st: 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets in 1 st, 1 double crochet, 2 double crochets in 1 st etc. Make 3 double crochets in the last st.

4th row: 2 double crochets in every 3rd st. Make 3 double crochets in the last st.

5th row: 3 double crochets in every 4th st. Make 1 double crochet in every out of 3 sts, make 3 double crochets in the 4th st and to end of row.

6th row: 3 double crochets in every 5th st. Slip 7 last sts of the row and mark them.

Crochet these 7 sts of the row with half-crochet, making increase in the middle - 3 half crochets in the 4th st.

These 7 sts aren't used in crocheting, so you'll need to turn your work.

Crochet 7th row due to the scheme, i.e., make 3 chain sts increase, 1 double crochet in the base of these chain sts, slip 3 chain sts, 4 double crochets in the 4th st, 3 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the same st, slip 2 sts, 1 double crochet, 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the same st. Repeat these actions to end of row.

Start each row with 3 chain sts increase. Make 9 rows with the ornament.

After making 9 rows of ornament, turn your work in such a way, to crochet the next row along neck line, i.e. with those 7 sts, which were crochet with half crochets.

Fasten the edge with 1 row of double crochets for forming smooth "rib" in the neck place.

Fasten the yarn, cut, and hide the ends.

Now, it's necessary to make straps. Cut 150-180 cm of yarn folded twice and insert in the ends of child's bonnet.

If you don't use beads for decoration, make just chain sts to end of yarn and fasten it, make the same actions for another strap.

If you want to decorate your bonnet with beads, so you should string any quantity of beads with thinner crochet hook to one or both threads.

Then, bind them into the chain of chain sts, catching the yarn in front of bead and tightly pulling the yarn during making chain sts.
