You’ll need:

300 (350) 350g of lilac (100% polyacryl; 170m/50g);

300 (350) 350g of the same yarn, but in light-brown color;

300 (350) 350g of the same yarn, but in blue-green color;

300 (350) 350g of the same yarn, but in anthracite color;

Crochet hook 3,5;

Small snap.

 

Size: S (M) L.

 

Used Patterns

Main pattern: double crochets. Start every row with 3 chain sts increase instead of the 1st double crochet and finish with 1 double crochet in the last chain st increase of the previous row.

Colors order: * 10 lilac rows, 10 light-brown rows, 10 blue-green rows, 10 anthracite rows”; repeat from * to *.

Striped pattern: 1st-9th rows: double crochets;

10th row: relief front post double crochets, make 2 chain sts instead of the 1st double crochet;

11th row: relief back post double crochets;

12th-19th rows: double crochets;

20th row: as the 10th row.

Repeat 1st-20th rows x once, then, repeat 11th-20th rows.

 

Stitches control: 24 sts x 11 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

 

Instructions

Back

Make 154 (164) 174 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with striped pattern due to the colors order. For side chamfer, decrease 9 x 1 st in every 4th row from both sides of the set-up row and 13 x 1 st in every 3rd row (8 x 1 st in every 4th row and 15 x 1 st in every 3rd row) 6 x 1 st in every 4th row and 17 x 1 st in every 3rd row, for this make the first and last two sts of the row together = 110 (118) 128 sts. In 71 cm = 78 rows (69 cm = 76 rows) 67 cm = 74 rows from the set-up row, bind off 10 (12) 14 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 90 (94) 100 sts. In 90 cm = 99 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 50 sts and finish your work on the rest 20 (22) 25 sts of shoulder in 91 cm = 100 rows from the set-up row.

 

Left Front

Make 82 (87) 92 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with striped pattern due to the colors order. Make decreases for side chamfer from both sides and make decreases for arm-hole from the right side in the same way, as for back = 28 (29) 32 sts. Then, decrease 8 (7) 7 x 1 st in every 2nd row. Finish your work on the rest 20 (22) 25 sts of shoulder at the height of back.

 

Right Front

Make 130 (135) 140 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with striped pattern due to the colors order. Make decreases for side chamfer from both sides and make decreases along arm-hole from the left side in the same way, as for back = 76 (77) 80 sts. In 82 cm = 90 rows form the set-up row, bind off 34 (33) 33 sts along right side for neck-hole and bind off 2 x 5 sts, 3 x 4 sts in the next row. Finish your work on the rest 20 (22) 25 sts of shoulder at the height of back.

 

Sleeves

Make 53 (58) 62 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase with blue-green yarn for each sleeve and work with striped pattern. For sleeve chamfer, increase 11 x 1 st in every 3rd row from both sides of the set-up row, 26 x 1 st in every 2nd row (4 x 1 st in every 3rd row and 20 x 1 st in every 2nd row) 26 x 1 st in every 2nd row = 97 (106) 114 sts. In 54 cm from the set-up row, finish your work.

 

Assembly

Make shoulder seams, sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams. Fasten the edge of neck-hole with 1 row of slip sts with light-brown yarn. Sew buttons.

PLEASE HELP This is without a doubt the prettiest cardigan pattern Ive ever run across. Im not one for cardigans but I am going to make this one.  My biggest issue is trying to figure out the yarn weight when no specific brand of yarn is listed for instance this pattern only says x amount of g of polyacry. That doesnt tell me if its a 2 3 4 5 or 6 weight. It appears to be a 3 or 4 but how do I tell PLEASE
