​Multicolored Knit Pullover

You’ll need:

100; 150; 150g of yarn (96% cotton, 4% polyester; 160m/50g) of carroty, white, crimson, purple and blue colors (each);

Knitting needles 4.

Size: S; M; L.

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: all knit sts;

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Colors order for front and back: 14 rows of carroty color yarn, * 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of crimson yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of purple yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of blue yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 16 rows of carroty yarn*; repeat from * to * x once, finish with 4 rows of white yarn and 16 rows of crimson yarn. Totally, 194 rows.

Colors order for sleeves: 4 rows of carroty yarn, * 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of crimson yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of purple yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of blue yarn, 4 rows of white yarn, 6 rows of carroty yarn*; repeat from * to * x 3 times, finish with 4 rows of white yarn and 6 rows of crimson yarn. Totally, 174 rows.

Decreases

Along the right side: 1 selvedge st, 2 knit sts, knit2tog;

Along the left side: knit2tog with left decline, 2 knit sts, 1 selvedge st.

Increases

Along the right side: 1 selvedge st, 2 knit sts, 1 cross knit st from transversal thread;

Along the left side: 1 cross knit st from transversal thread before the last 3 sts, 2 knit sts, 1 selvedge st.

Stitches control: 22 sts x 32,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Start work with carroty yarn. Cast on 103; 113; 123 sts and make 3 rows of garter stitch, the 1^st row is WS. Continue work with stockinette stitch, alternate small and big stripes, as it is previously described.

After making 20 rows (6 cm) with stockinette stitch, decrease 1 x 1 st, as it’s previously described from both sides, then, 6 x 1 st in every 10^th row. You should get 89; 99; 109 sts. At 88 rows (27 cm) height, increase 1 x 1 st as it’s previously described from both sides, then 2 x 1 st in every 8^th row, 4 x 1 st in every 6^th row; 6 x 1 st in every 6^th row; 6 x 1 st in every 4^th and 6^th rows by turn. Totally, 103; 113; 123 sts.

In 41 cm (134 rows); 39,5 cm (128 rows); 37,5 cm (122 rows) from garter stitch, bind off 1 x 4 sts for-arm-holes from both sides, then, 2 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row, 1 x 1 st. You should get 85; 95; 105 sts. After making 58 cm (188 rows) from garter stitch, bind off the central 41 sts for the neck-hole and finish each part separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 5 sts in every 2^nd row, at 59,5 cm (194 rows) height, bind off 12; 17; 22 sts for shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole. At 55,5 cm (180 rows) height from garter stitch, bind off the central 33 sts, then, 1 x 6 sts in every 2^nd row, 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, 3 x 1 st.

Sleeves

Cast on 44; 48; 52 sts with carroty yarn and work with garter stitch, as on the previously made details. Continue work with stockinette stitch due to the colors order for sleeves. At the same time, increase 7 x 1 st in every 10^th row; 7 x 1 st in every 8^th row; 16 x 1 st in every 8^th row; 10 x 1 st in every 8^th row and 8 x 1 st in every 6^th row. Totally, 72; 80; 88 sts.

At 41 cm (134 rows) from garter stitch, bind off 1 x 3 sts for sleeve cap, then 1 x 2 sts in every 2^nd row and decrease 17 x 1 st, bind off 1 x 2 sts.

At 53,5 cm (174 rows) from garter stitch, bind off the rest 24; 32; 40 sts.

Assembly

Sewshoulders. Lift 136 sts with circle knitting needles and crimson yarn along the neck-hole line and make 4 circle rows of knit sts. Bindoffthestsduetotheornament. Sewthesleeves. Sew up side and sleeve seams.
