You’ll need:

300 (400)g of light-blue yarn (100% cotton; 165m/50g);

Knitting needles 4;

Circular knitting needles 4.

Size: S (L).

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 16. Work due to the scheme 1, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows sts and yarn overs as purls, if 2 yarn overs – the 1st yarn over as purl, the 2nd yarn over as knit st. Repeat 1st-28th rows.

Relief pattern for sleeves: the quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme 2, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows sts and yarn overs as purls, if 2 yarn overs – the 1st yarn over as purl, the 2nd yarn over as knit st. Repeat 1st-8th rows between selvage sts.

Stitches control: stockinette stitch and relief pattern: 19 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Relief pattern for sleeves: 20,5 sts x 33,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 88 (100) sts and make 1 WS row of knit sts. Don’t take this row into account. Continue work in the following way: 1 selvage st, 3 (1) st of stockinette stitch, 80 (96) sts of relief pattern, 3 (1) st of stockinette stitch, 1 selvage st. In 45,5 cm = 164 rows (42 cm = 152 rows) from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes, then, bind off 1 x 3 sts and 2 x 2 sts in every 2nd row = 66 (78) sts. In 62 cm = 224 rows from the set-up row, bind off all sts, the central 42 sts form neck-hole, outer 12 (18) sts from both sides – shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but in 56 cm = 202 rows from the set-up row, bind off the central 32 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. Bind off the rest 12 (18) sts of shoulders from both sides at the same height, as back.

Sleeves

Cast on 46 (50) sts for each sleeve and make 1 WS row of knit sts. Continue work with relief pattern for sleeves. At the same time, increase 8 x 1 st in every 12th row from both sides (12 x 1 st in every 8th row from both sides) due to the pattern = 62 (74) sts. In 31,5 cm = 106 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 3 sts from both sides for sleeve caps, then, bind off 17 (15) x 1 st and 1 (3) x 2 sts in every 2nd row. In 43 cm = 144 rows from the set-up row, bind off the rest 18 (26) sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. For placket, cast on 95 sts along neck-hole with circular knitting needles and make 4 circle rows of purls. Then, bind off all sts, as purls. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
