You’ll need:

300 (400) 400g of dark-grey yarn (58% cotton, 21% wool, 21% polyacryl; 250m/100g);

100 (150) 150g of silver-grey yarn (100% polyester; 85m/50g);

Knitting needles 5;

Circular knitting needles 5;

Crochet hook 6.

Size: S (M) L.

Patterns and stripes order: 1 WS row of knit sts in silver-grey yarn, * 2 rows of stockinette stitch with dark-grey yarn, 2 rows of garter stitch with silver-grey yarn*; repeat from * to * x twice = 13 rows.

Used Patterns

Grit pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 12 + 1 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows sts and yarn overs as purls. Start with selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1st-24th rows.

Stitches control: grit pattern: 15 sts x 26,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Patterns order: 13 rows = 6 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 63 (75) 87 sts with knitting needles 5 and silver-grey yarn and make 6 cm = 13 rows due to the patterns order for lower placket. Change to dark-grey yarn and continue work with grit pattern. In 42,5 cm = 112 rows (40 cm = 106 rows) 37,5 cm = 100 rows from lower placket, bind off 1 x 6 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 51 (63) 75 sts. In 57,5 cm = 152 rows from lower placket, bind off the central 17 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth neck-hole, bind off 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. In 59,5 cm = 158 rows from lower placket, bind off the rest 14 (20) 26 sts of shoulder. Finish the second side in symmetry.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but for deeper neck-hole, bind off the central 11 sts in 50,5 cm = 134 rows from lower placket and bind off 6 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards.

Sleeves

Cast on 39 sts with knitting needles 5 with silver-grey yarn and make 6 cm = 13 rows with patterns order for placket. Continue work with grit pattern. For chamfers, increase 6 x 1 st in every 18th row (10 x 1 st in every 12th and 10th rows by turn) 14 x 1 st in every 8th and 6th rows by turn = 51 (59) 67 sts, include the increased sts in pattern. In 46 cm = 122 rows (46 cm = 122 rows) 41,5 cm = 110 rows from placket, bind off all sts in one row.

Assembly

Fasten diagonal lines of grit pattern with slip sts with silver-grey yarn and crochet hook 6. Make shoulder seams. For trim, cast on 39 sts of front with circular knitting needles and silver-grey yarn along front neck-hole, and 27 sts along back neck-hole = 66 sts and make 1 round of purls. Then, work with patterns order from *. After making 13 rows, make 6 cm of stockinette stitch with dark-grey yarn. Then, bind off all sts as knit sts. Fold placket in half, and sew WS. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
