​Crochet Small Bag

You’ll need:

1 skein of dark-blue yarn (65% alpaca, 35% sheep wool; 100m/50g);

Crochet hook 4,5;

35 x 35 cm piece of 100% cotton yarn for backing;

1 magnet snap;

Zipper 30 cm long;

Markers.

Size: 28 x 15 cm.

Used Patterns

Beads pattern: * 5 unfinished double crochets in the same st – there are 6 sts on the crochet hook, 1 yarn over and draw all 6 sts through it = there is 1 st on the crochet hook. Make 1 single crochet in the next st*; repeat from * to * between markers from front side.

Unfinished double crochet: make in 2 sts on the crochet hook while the rest 2 sts are still on the crochet hook.

Stitches control: 17 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note: work with circle rows. Make beads pattern from front and work back side with single crochets.

Instructions

Make 40 chain sts for bag base and work around:

1^st row: 1 single crochet in the 2^nd chain st on the crochet hook. Continue work with single crochets to the last chain st = 38 single crochets. Make 4 single crochets in the last chain st. After that, work with single crochet from opposite edge, make 3 single crochets in the 1^st chain st from the beginning of row = 84 single crochets;

2^nd row: 1 single crochet in every st till the last 3 single crochets. Make 2 single crochets in every crochet out of 3 single crochets of the previous row. After that, make 2 single crochets in every of the last 3 single crochets of the previous row = 90 single crochets.

Sides

Crochet 2 circle rows straight, make single crochets. Place markers in the beginning of row and in 45 single crochets = sides of bag;

3^rd row: make front with pattern of beads and single crochets for back side;

4^th-8^th rows: single crochets.

Repeat 3^rd-8^th rows x 4 times.

Fastener

Make 6 single crochets in the center of back detail. Crochet 6 rows, make 1 bead in the middle, 3 rows of single crochets.

Assembly

Sew snap to the bag’s fastener.

Backing

Cut piece of cloth, fold it in half and sew RS inside. Sew zipper. Sew backing to bag and zipper.
