​Bright Knit Tunic

You’ll need:

250 (300) 350g of lilac Nico yarn (97% cotton, 3% polyester; 95m/50g);

100 (150) 150g of the same yarn, but in red and yellow colors (each);

50 (100) 100g of the same yarn, but in bright-pink color;

Straight knitting needles 4 and 4,5;

Crochet hook 3,5.

Used Patterns

Pattern with slipped sts, knitting needles 4: the initial quantity of sts is multiple 3 + 1 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme 1, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows and yarn overs as purls. Start with 1 selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Make 1^st-6^th rows x once, then, repeat 3^rd-6^th rows. After the 1^st row, the quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 1 + 2 selvage sts.

Waffle pattern, knitting needles 4,5: the quantity of sts is multiple 6 + 4 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which only RS row are stated. Make WS rows as sts face. Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Make 1^st-10^th rows x once, then, repeat 3^rd-10^th rows.

Stripes order: 6 red rows, * 4 yellow rows, 4 bright-pink rows, 4 lilac rows, 4 red rows*; repeat from * to *.

Stitches control: pattern with slipped sts, knitting needles 4: 13 sts x 20,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Waffle pattern, knitting needles 4,5: 25 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 96 (108) 120 sts with red yarn and work with pattern of slipped sts, making stripes order after the 1^st row, there’ll be 127 (143) 159 sts. In 35,5 cm = 73 rows from the set-up row, take off the sts in the next WS row, as it’s previously described = 96 (108) 120 sts and continue work with waffle pattern and purple yarn in 36 cm = 74 rows from the set-up row. In 15,5 cm = 40 rows (13 cm = 34 rows) 10,5 cm = 28 rows from the pattern with slipped sts finishing, bind off 1 x 12 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 72 (84) 96 sts. In 29 cm = 76 rows from the finishing of pattern with slipped sts, bind off the central 36 (40) 48 sts for necl-hole and finish both sides separately. In 34 cm = 88 rows from finishing of pattern with slipped sts, bind off the rest 18 (22) 24 sts of shoulder.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole. For this, in 21,5 cm = 56 rows from finishing of pattern with slipped sts, bind off the central 36 (40) 48 sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder and side seams. Fasten neck-hole and arm-holes with 1 row of slip sts with yellow yarn. Fasten lower edge of front and back with 1 circle row of picot with red yarn in the following way: * 1 single crochet, 3 chain sts and 1 single crochet in the 1^st chain st*; repeat from * to *, slip 1-2 sts, finish with 1 slip st in the 1^st single crochet.
