Robin Knit Hat
You’ll need:
2 skeins of yarn (85% wool, 10% silk, 5% cashmere; 95m/50g);
Knitting needles 4,5 and 5.
Measurements
Head circumference: 53 cm;
Depth: 28 cm.
Stitches control: 1,5 sts x 2,2 rows.
Instructions
Upper Part (Bell)
Cast on 5 sts with knitting needles 5. Place marker and circle your work in the ring.
1st row: increase 1 st in every st (10 sts);
2nd row: knit;
3rd row: increase 1 st in every st (20 sts);
4th row: knit;
5th row: * 1 knit st, increase, 3 knit sts, increase*; repeat from * to * (30 sts);
6th row: knit;
7th row: * 1 knit st, increase, 5 knit sts, increase*; repeat from * to * (40 sts);
8th row: knit;
9th row: * 1 knit st, increase, 7 knit sts, increase*; repeat from * to * (50 sts);
10th-11th rows: knit;
12th row: * 1 knit st, increase, 9 knit sts, increase*; repeat from * to * (60 sts);
13th-15th rows: knit;
16th row: * 1 knit st, increase, 11 knit sts, increase*; repeat from * to * (70 sts);
17th-20th rows: knit;
21st row: * 1 knit st, increase, 13 knit sts, increase*; repeat from * to * (80 sts).
Continue work all the rows with knit sts until the length is 15 cm from the set-up row.
Flap
Change to knitting needles 4,5 and make 1 circle row. Turn your work, cast on 20 sts, using the auxiliary needle.
1st row: yarn in front of work, slip 1 purl, 18 knit sts, knit2tog (catching 1 st of the main work), turn;
2nd row: yarn in front of work, slip 1 purl, 19 knit stsm turn.
Repeat 1st-2nd rows only on 20 sts. Continue work until the length of flap is the same as the length of the main part, then, repeat only the 2nd row for 5 cm more. Bind off the sts.
Weave in the ends.
Sew the buttons through both details.
