Whether you're a seasoned crocheter or just starting out, creating this shawl will surely bring you joy and satisfaction. So grab your crochet hooks and dive into this delightful project that will wrap you in warmth and style! Happy crafting!

Materials:

  • I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
  • 1090 yards of #4 medium weight yarn (I used 5 balls of Upcycled Alpaca Blend from Hobbii in the “Lichen” (2 balls) “Deep Blue” (2 balls) and “Gravel” (1 ball)
  • Yarn/tapestry needle
  • Scissors
  • Measuring Tape

Sizing:

  • Bottom point of the triangle straight up the middle is 32 inches
  • Bottom point and along the side edge is 40 inches
  • Top edge of the triangle is 54 inches

Pattern Notes:

  • Pattern stitch multiple is 6+6.
  • I worked 4 rows each of the blue and green, with 1 row of gray in between each.
  • To make your shawl bigger, simply work more rows of the pattern.
  • To make a puff stitch, begin by wrap yarn around hook and bring up a loop (3 loops on the hook), wrap yarn around hook and bring up a loop (5 loops on the hook), wrap yarn around hook and bring up a loop (7 loops on the hook). Wrap yarn around hook one last time and bring hook through all 7 loops. Chain 1 to close stitch, then in this pattern you’ll work one more ch 1 after that.

Cozy Cabin Crochet Shawl Pattern:

  • Ch 18 (to change the bottom point width, it is a multiple of 6+6)

Note: I worked 4 rows of blue, then a row of gray, then four rows of green, then a row of gray, then repeat.

  • Row 1: In the 3rd ch from the hook, work a (dc, ch 2, dc). *Skip 2 chains, then work a puff stitch in the next chain (see detailed stitch instructions above). Note: Be sure to work a chain to close the top of the puff stitch, then another chain. Skip 2 chains then work a (dc, ch 2, dc) in the next chain. Repeat from * across, then work a puff stitch with just ONE chain this time to close the top (not a second chain like the ones before) in the last ch.
  • Row 2: Ch 3 and turn. *Work a (dc, ch 2, dc) into the top of the puff stitch from previous row (little loop at the top of the puff stitch). Next, work a puff stitch into the ch 2 space (center of the v from the previous row). Note: as you did in row 1, work a chain to close the top of the puff stitch, plus one more chain. Repeat from * across. Work a (dc, ch 2, dc) in the turning chain space.
  • Row 3: Ch 3 and turn. *Work a puff stitch into the ch 2 space (center of the v from the previous row). Work a (dc, ch 2, dc) into the top of the puff stitch from previous row (little loop at the top of the puff stitch). Note: as you did in rows 1 and 2, work a chain to close the top of the puff stitch, plus one more chain. Repeat from * across. Work a puff stitch with just ONE chain this time to close the top (not a second chain like the ones before) in the turning chain space.
  • Repeat rows 2 and 3 until piece is about 32 inches tall.

Finishing & Assembly:

  • Weave in any ends and your shawl is ready to wear!
