TRIMMING . . . With White, ch 15 to measure 1 ½ inches. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each sc across, ch 37 to measure 3 ¾ inches. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in each ch across, skip first sc on 2nd row, sl st in next sc on same row; ch 50 to measure 4 ¾ inches, work across chain as before; skip 1 sc on 2nd row, sl st in next sc, (ch 47 to measure 4 ½ inches, complete as for other chains) 3 times. Make two more chains, one measuring 4 ¾ inches and the other 3 ¾ inches. Break off. Sew trimming in place as illustrated. Make another piece the same way.
EDGING . . . 1st rnd: With wrong sides facing and working through both thicknesses, attach White to any corner at top, make 3 sc in same place, sc closely around entire pot holder, making 3 sc in opposite corner. Join with sl st to first sc. 2nd and 3rd rnds: Ch 1, sc in each sc, making 3 sc in center sc of each 3-sc group. Join and break off at end of 3rd rnd. With White sc closely around bone ring. Sew in place.
