​Crochet Shell Bag

You’ll need:

1 skein of light-pink yarn (40% alpaca wool, 30% wool, 2% viscose, 28% nylon; 150m/50g);

Crochet hook 5;

Chain 12 mm of 100 cm long.

Size: 23 x 22 cm.

Used Patterns

Decrease half double crochet: make 2 half double crochets together = * yarn over, insert crochet hook in st, yarn over, draw it through st* x twice, yarn over and draw it through all sts on the crochet hook.

control: 18 sts = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Make 7 chain sts.

1^st row: 1 half double crochet in the 2^nd st, 4 half double crochets, 5 half double crochets in the last st, then, work due to the pattern from WS of chain, 5 half double crochets, turn (15 sts);

2^nd row: 1 chain st, 1 half double crochet in the 1^st st, 4 half double crochets, (2 half double crochets in the same st) x 5 times, 5 half double crochets, turn (20 sts);

3^rd row: 1 chain st, 1 half double crochet in the 1^st st, 4 half double crochets, (2 half double crochets in the same st, 1 half double crochet) x twice, (1 half double crochet, 2 half double crochets in the same st) x twice, 5 half double crochets, turn (26 sts);

4^th row: 1 chain st, 1 half double crochet in the 1^st st, 4 half double crochets, (2 half double crochets in the same st, 2 half double crochets) x 5 times, 2 half double crochets in the same st, 5 half double crochets, turn (32 sts);

5^th row: 1 chain st, 1 single crochet in the 1^st st, 31 single crochets, 10 chain sts.

Continue work around for forming half-circle area in the middle of bag.

1^st row: 1 single crochet in the 2^nd chain st, 8 single crochets, 1 slip st in the 2^nd single crochet on the central area, slip st in the next single crochet on the central area, 1 chain st, turn (9 sts);

2^nd row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 3 half double crochets through back loop, 4 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (9 sts);

3^rd row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1^st st, 4 double crochets through back loop, 4 half double crochets through back loop (slip st to the next single crochet on the central area) x twice, 1 chain st, turn (9 sts);

4^th-7^th rows: repeat 2^nd and 3^rd rows;

8^th row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 2 half double crochets in the next st, 2 half double crochets through back loop, 4 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (10 sts);

13^th row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1^st st, 5 double crochets through back loop (slip st to the next single crochet on the central area) x twice, 1 chain st (11 sts);

14^th row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 4 half double crochets through back loop, 5 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (11 sts);

16^th row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 4 half double crochets through back loop, 6 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (12 sts);

17^th row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1^st st, 6 single crochets through back loop, 5 half double crochets through back loop, slip st to the next single crochet on the central area, 1 chain st, 1 slip st in the same single crochet, 1 chain st, turn (12 sts);

18^th-22^nd rows: as the 16^th and 17^th rows;

23^rd row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1^st st, 6 double crochets through back loop, 2 half double crochets through back loop, decrease half double crochet through back loop, 1 half double crochet (slip st to the next single crochet on the central area) x twice, 1 chain st (11 sts);

24^th row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 4 half double crochets through back loop, 5 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (11 sts);

25^th row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1^st st, 5 double crochets through back loop, (slip st to the next single crochet on the central area) x twice, 1 chain st (11 sts);

26^th row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 1 half double crochet through back loop, decrease half double crochet through back loop, 1 half double crochet through back loop, 5 double crochet through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (10 sts);

27^th row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1^st st, 5 double crochets through back loop, (slip st to the next single crochet on the central area) x twice, 1 chain st (10 sts);

28^th row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 3 half double crochets through back loop, 5 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (10 sts);

29^th row: as the 27^th row;

30^th row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, decrease 1 half double crochet through back loop, 2 half double crochets through back loop, 4 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (9 sts);

31^st row: 2 chain sts, 1 double crochet in the 1^st st, 4 double crochets through back loop, 4 half double crochets through back loop (slip st to the next single crochet on the central area) x twice, 1 chain st, turn (9 sts);

32^nd row: 1 half double crochet through back loop of the 1^st st, 3 half double crochets through back loop, 4 double crochets through back loop, 1 double crochet in the next st, turn (9 sts);

33^rd-34^th rows: as the 31^st-32^nd rows;

35^th row: 1 chain st, 1 single crochet in the 1^st st, 8 single crochets through back loop, slip st to the last single crochet on the central area (9 sts).

Cut the yarn. Then, make 3 rows of single crochets, starting from the upper left corner.

1^st row: 1 chain st, 2 single crochets in every double crochet = 68 single crochets, turn (68 sts);

2^nd row: 1 chain st, 1 single crochet in the 1^st st, 9 single crochets, (2 single crochets in the same st, 1 single crochet) x 24, 10 single crochets, turn (92 sts);

3^rd row: 1 chain st, 92 single crochets (92 single crochets).

Make the second side in the same way.

Assembly

Put both details of bag WS facing and connect with the help of slip st through back loop.

Upper Part of Bag

1^st row: 1 chain st, (1 single crochet in the beginning of both details connection, 2 single crochets from row of single crochets, 9 single crochets, 14 single crochets in the middle, 9 single crochets from the row of single crochets) x twice (74 sts). Continue crochet across;

2^nd-10^th rows: 1 single crochet in every single crochet (74 sts);

11^th row: 1 slip st in every single crochet (74 sts).

Cut the yarn. Weave in ends. Sew chains from to both edges from inwards.
