I have often wondered how to take a full circle doily pattern and divide everything in half and wonder if that would work for a half circle doily. There are many hundreds of patterns out there and also have circle rug patterns that you could do on a smaller scale and somehow have it work out. I would check YouTube and do a search for half circle doily patterns or just do a general google search to see what you could find. There has to be a formula for figuring it out. Hope you find out what you are looking for.
I use Susan Bates crochet hooks. They are an inline hook that is aluminum with bamboo handles. I have had them for years and they are inexpensive and crocheting with them is such a pleasure as they make the stitches so pretty and uniform. I use no other type of hooks. Now I just got done ordering the New Susan Bates Twist & Lock Deluxe Kit from Yarnspirations.com and I just can't wait to get them. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and have had surgery on my hands, so they are very picky on which ergonomic crochet hooks that I use, and Susan Bates are the best one's for me.
I wish you success on your recovery. You could look on www.allfreecrochet.com and look on beginner patterns or easy patterns. Also, go to YouTube and do a search for Crochet and choose «Bag-o-Day or Fiber Spider videos. They are great instructors and have some great simple patterns you can crochet.
Once again, I will give you prayers and our God will help your hands and coordination. Good luck in all you do. Sandy
Welcome! I am sure that you can find lots of help in your crochet and knit endeavors. I have been crocheting for about 60 years and I enjoy it so much. One can never have enough yarn, LOL. I also go to YouTube for tutorials all of the time for help and ideas. Once again, Welcome to our world!
If only I could figure out how to make a Triangle shaped shawl with this stitch. I think it would make a beautiful shawl with a gradient color yarn! Thanks for sharing this pattern.
Go to Yarn-Paradise.com. They are located in Turkey but they ship and you receive your yarn in 2-3 days. They do charge a little more for shipping but the yarn is cheaper so it all evens out. I do not buy anywhere else. Their yarn is excellent!
This was just what I was looking for. Pretty, simple and a useful pattern for my collection. I will add this to my shawls when I use thread for accents! Thank you for sharing this pattern!
I would like to see simple stitch summer crochet patterns with written instructions. Not charts. Summer tops, shawls, wraps, flower patterns that are colorful would suit me just fine. Also, if patterns are posted, I would like to see the author of these patterns and a web-site where we can find the instructions for the pattern.
Nice pattern. I am going to make this wider for a summer topper made with sport weight cotton yarn. Thanks so much for this pattern you are sharing with us.
I may be old fashioned but I still use doilies in my house because they are so pretty and they also protect your tables. I love them and I love the one you have a picture of.
Let me know if you have any problems accessing the information that I sent you. In the video down below in the description there is a link to www.onascrochet.com. I am not sure as I am typing it but if you click the link to her blog it will pop-up.
I recommend you to make a swatch of the stitch so you wont have problems to understand to summer top pattern .
S size 80 ch R1 randomly 60 increases, total 140 dc R2 randomly 20 increases, total 160 dc begin the ring stitch, into the second round of the stitch there will be 14 rings M size ( the size that I work in the tutorial ) 120 ch R1 randomly 60 increases, total 180 dc R2 randomly 20 increases, total 200 dc begin the ring stitch, into the second round of the stitch there will be 20 rings L size 160 ch R1 randomly 60 inc, total 220 dc R2 randomly 20 inc, total 240 dc begin the ring stitch, into the second round of the stitch there will be 24 rings XL size 200 ch R1. randomly 60 inc, total 260 dc R2 randomly 20 inc, total 280 dc begin the ring stitch, into the second round of the stitch there will be 28 rings Note If the neck line is too large into the unworked loops of the ch with a smaller hook work 2 sc rounds, if necessary into the second sc round work some dec ( 8 — 10 ). If it fits perfectly then work a sc round with the same crochet hook size and a crab stitch round with a smaller crochet hook size. Work single crochets around the arm hole too when the top is finished and a crab stitch round with a smaller size hook . The rings stitch is worked in sequence of 4 rounds or rows, then this sequence is to be repeated for the length. This is very important for the to p construction. For all sizes work one sequence of the ring stitch after the dc rounds then divide in front and back, leaving outside the straps ( 2 rings per one strap for all sizes) . So after the border is ready, you will work in rows . Into the 3rd row make your first increase ( watch the video ) and then increase in each of your 5th row or into the first row of each new sequence, for one side and then you will repeat exactly the same for the other side. You will continue increasing into the 5th round after the two parts ( front and back ) will be joint together. If it's too ruffle you can increase in each of the 10th round or you can actually stop increasing In mine ( M size ) I increase only 3 times more after I joint the back and the front . When the length until underarms is perfect join again in rounds and on the underarm add at list 10 ch, into the next round you will work on the 10 ch as the pattern stitch says .
I will also post the place on YouTube for the link to the video of the pattern where you can understand it a little better. youtu.be/EwcBHnhbMWw Just type that in on YouTube and the video will pop up so you can watch it.
