Simple Crochet Shawl

You’ll need:

1 skein of Scheepjes Whirl yarn (60% cotton, 40% acryl; 1000m/225g) – Fruity O’Tutty (763);

Crochet hook 4 mm.

Size: 22” x 100”.

Note: work in 2 threads of yarn.

Instructions

The wrap starts with 112 chain stitches, this makes the height of the wrap. If you wish to change the height you need to add or subtract multiples of 3 stitches to the base chain.

1st row (WS): Ch 112, tr2tog with the legs in 7th and 10th ch from hook, *ch2, tr2tog with first leg in same position as previous tr2tog and second leg in 3rd ch so there are two empty chain stitches between the legs of the tr2tog; repeat from * to end. Turn. [35 tr2tog, 1 tr];

2nd row (RS): Ch4 (counts as tr here and further), tr in next tr2tog, *ch2, tr2tog with the first leg in the current tr2tog-stitch and the second leg in the next tr2tog; repeat from * to last tr2tog. Ch2, tr2tog with legs in last tr2tog and 4th ch of turning ch6, ch2, tr in 4th ch. Turn. [34 tr2tog, 2 tr];

3rd row (WS): Ch6 (counts as 1tr and ch2), tr2tog in current tr and next tr2tog, *ch2, tr2tog in current tr2tog and next tr2tog; repeat from * to end where the last leg of the tr2tog is worked on the turning ch4 of Row 2. Turn. [35 tr2tog, 1 tr];

Repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows till the end of the yarn, finishing with the 2nd row.

Fasten off at the end of the last row.

Great pattern.  Very easy and summery.  Good instructions.  Love it!  Can't wait to start it with my ICE Yarn!
