Crochet Shawl with Picot Border
You’ll need:
125g of dark-brown yarn (70% mohair, 30% silk; 210m/25g);
50g of orange yarn (70% mohair, 30% silk; 420m/50g);
50g of the same yarn, but in coral color;
Crochet hook 3,5.
Used Patterns
Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 5 + 2. Work due to the scheme 1. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, make 1st-3rd rows x once, then, repeat 2nd-3rd rows.
Picot edge: the quantity of sts is multiple 20 + 1. Work in the same way, as the main pattern, but due to the scheme 2. Make 1st-5th rows x once, then, repeat 4th-5th rows.
Stitches control: main pattern: 26 sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Picot pattern: 28,5 sts x 7,75 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
At first, make 92 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with main pattern with dark-brown yarn for left front. In 53 cm from the set-up row, shoulder line is reached, in 59 cm from the set-up row, leave your work. Make right front in the same way. Then, for back, work on both details as one-piece cloth, for this, make same sts together in the 1st row. In 47 cm from connection of work or in 106 cm from the set-up row, finish your work.
For back picot border, make 201 chain sts with orange yarn, for front picot borders make 101 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with picot pattern. In 15,5 cm = 12 rows from the set-up row, continue work with orange-coral yarn. In 31 cm = 24 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.
Assembly
Sew picot border with tops of set-up row to lower edges of front and back. For strap, make 3 chain sts + 3 chain sts increase and work with double crochets, start every row with 3 chain sts instead of the 1st double crochet. Finish your work in 180 cm.
