Elephant Crochet Border
You'll need:
Grey yarn;
Crochet hook 3.75 mm.
Instructions
Row 1 (Body of Elephant):
sc into 5 stitches
cn 2
tc into next three stitches
cn 3
tc into 3rd stitch
tc into next 3 stitches so you have 4 tc in a row
flip your work over
Row 2 ( Body and Tail of Elephant):
cn 3
tc into the 1st 4 tc of previous row
tc 3 times into cn 3 stitch
tc 3 into next 3 stitches (you should have a total of 10 tc up to this point on row 2)
cn 7
connect chain to the 5th sc in row 1 with a sc
flip your work over
Row 3 (Body of Elephant):
sc 7 times into cn 7 space
sc into 1st tc
cn 2
tc into next 9 tc from previous row
cn 5
connect cn 5 to the top of the tc from row 1
the body of the elephant is now done
turn your work 1/4 of the way so that the tail is away from you
Row 4 (Ear of the Elephant):
cn 3
tc 7 times into the first tc from row 3 (not the cn 5 that you just completed)
cn 3
connect cn 3 to the same tc you just added 7 tc to with a sc
Row 5 (Head of the Elephant):
cn 3
tc 8 times into the cn 5 space
Row 6 (Tusk for the Elephant)
cn 5
Connect cn 5 to the top of last tc from row 5
Row 7 (Trunk of Elephant):
cn 3
connect cn 3 to the 4th base chain of your border and you are done
