Start and finish every row with 1 selvage st.

1^st row (RS): * 4 purls, 4 knti sts*; repeat from * to *, 4 purls;

2^nd row: * 1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st, 4 purls*; repeat from * to *, 4 purls;

3^rd row (RS): as the 1^st row;

4^th row: as the 2^nd row;

5^th row (RS): as the 1^st row;

6^th row: as the 2^nd row;

7^th row (RS): * 4 knit sts, 4 purls*; repeat from * to *, 4 knit sts;

8^th row: * 4 purls, 1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to *, 4 purls;

9^th row (RS): as the 7^th row;

10^th row: as the 8^th row;
