The quantity of sts is multiple 10 + 2 selvage sts.

Start and finish every row with 2 selvage sts.

1^st row (RS): knit;

2^nd row: purl;

3^rd row (RS): * 3 purls, slip next 4 sts holding yarn in back, 3 purls*; repeat from * to *;

4^th row: * 3 knit sts, slip next 4 sts holding yarn in front, 3 knit sts*; repeat from * to *;

5^th row (RS): as the 3^rd row;

6^th row: as the 4^th row;

7^th row: knit;

8^th row: purl;

9^th row: knit;

10^th row: purl;

11^th row: * slip next 4 sts holding yarn in back, 6 purls, slip next 4 sts holding yarn in back*; repeat from * to *;

12^th row: * slip next 4 sts holding yarn in front, 6 knit sts, slip next 4 sts holding yarn in front*; repeat from * to *;

13^th row: as the 11^th row;

14^th row: as the 12^th row;

15^th row: knit;

16^th row: purl.
