​Melange Knit Dress

You’ll need:

700g of mélange yarn (50% wool, 50% acryl; 350m/100g);

Knitting needles 2,5;

8 buttons.

Instructions

Front

Cast on 176 sts and make 2,5 cm of garter stitch. Bind off 11 sts from both sides for cuts placket = 154 sts. Work with stockinette stitch for 2,5 cm, then, make 2,5 cm of garter stitch. Then, work with stockinette stitch, make relief pattern due to the scheme in the center of work. Knit 74 cm this way, then, make gore with the help of shorten rows. For this, make 102 sts from edge of work, turn, knit 51 sts, turn, knit 61 sts, turn, knit 71 sts, turn, knit 81 sts, turn and continue work this way. Knit for 3 cm and them bind off 3 sts from both sides for arm-holes, then, 10 x 1 st in every RS row. Make 11 cm, bind off the central 30 sts for neck-hole, then, work both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 6 x 1 st in every row from inwards. After that, bind off 4 x 6 sts in every 2^nd row for shoulder chamfer.

Back

Make in the same way, as front, but without relief pattern, gores and with deeper neck-hole. At 6 cm height of arm-hole, divide sts in half and then work each part separately. For V-shape neck-hole, bind off 1 st and 2 sts in every RS row by turn from the side of neck-hole. Finish another side in symmetry.

Sleeves

Cast on 86 sts and make 2,5 cm of garter stitch. Then, make 32 sts, bind off 22 sts and make 32 sts more. Connect the edging 32 sts in the next row and work with stockinette stitch on 64 sts. Knit for 21 cm, increase 12 x 1 st in every 4^th row from both sides. For sleeve caps, bind off 4 sts from both sides, then, 6 x 1 st in every row and 20 x 1 st in every 2^nd row. Bind off the rest sts. Make the second sleeve in the same way.

Collar

Cast on 235 sts and make 2,5 cm of garter stitch. Bind off 17 sts from both sides (side plackets) and then, work with stockinette stitch, bind off 1 st in every 4^th row from both sides. At 7 cm height, bind off the central 50 sts and after that knit each part separately for 3 cm more, bind off 10 sts in every row from inwards.

Assembly

Make side seams to cuts. Sew plackets to the cuts. Sew 2 buttons from each side. Make shoulder, sleeve seams, sew up the sleeves. Sew collar to the neck-hole.
