​Knit Suit for Baby

You’ll need:

250g of thin 100% acryl yarn in pink color;

Knitting needles 4 and 4,5;

Crochet hook 3,5;

6 buttons;

60 cm of elastic lace.

Size: 6-9 months.

Used Patterns

Garter stitch: knit;

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

1 x 1 rib;

Fancy pattern:

1^st row: 1 selvage st, * purl5tog, 5 sts out of 1 st (1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st)*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvage st;

2^nd and all the even rows: purl;

3^rd row: 1 selvage st, * 5 sts out of 1 st, purl5tog*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvage st;

5^th, 7^th, 9^th and 11^th rows: knit.

Repeat 1^st-12^th rows.

Stitches control: 19 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Sweater

Note: work in 2 threads of yarn.

Cast on 32 sts with knitting needles 4 and make 2 cm of garter stitch. Then, make 26 sts with fancy pattern and 6 sts of garter stitch with knitting needles 4,5. Finish your work at 28 cm height. Make the second half of back in symmetry to the first one.

Front

Cast on 50 sts with knitting needles 4 and make 2 cm of garter stitch. Then, work with fancy pattern and knitting needles 4,5. At 25 cm height, bind off the central 10 sts for neck-hole, bind off 1 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts from both sides. At 28 cm height, finish your work.

Sleeves

Cast on 26 sts with knitting needles 4 and make 2 cm of garter stitch. Then, work with fancy pattern with knitting needles 4,5, increase 6 sts in WS row. Knit, increase 4 x 1 st in every 6^th row. At 21 cm height, finish your work.

Assembly

Make seams and sew up the sleeves in the arm-holes. Fasten the neck-hole with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “shrimp stitch”. Make 6 button-holes on the right front placket. Sew the buttons.

Shorts

Front and Back

Make 2. Knit both legs at the same time. Cast on 20 sts with knitting needles 4,5 for each leg and make 1 WS row. Continue work with fancy pattern. Make 10 rows, collect the sts of both legs, cast on 6 sts between them and continue work with stockinette stitch. Make 5 cm of rib in 20 cm and finish your work.

Assembly

Make all the seams. Sew the elastic lace from WS.
