​Knit Suit of Top and Skirt

You’ll need:

350 (400)g of green 100% cotton yarn in green color (125m/50g);

300 (350)g of the same yarn, but in white color;

Straight and circular knitting needles 3,5;

Transparent shirr.

Size: S (M).

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Garter stitch: knit;

Zigzags pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 13 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Repeat the pattern between selvage sts.

Patterns order 1 in zigzags pattern: at first, make 1^st-4^th rows, then, 5^th=10^th rows and 11^th-18^th rows x once with green and white yarn, after that, make 11^th-18^th rows x once with green yarn = totally, 44 rows.

Patterns order 2 in zigzags pattern: make 1^st-2^nd rows x 13 times and 3^rd-4^th rows x once with green yarn,

* 1^st and 2^nd rows x 9 times, 3^rd and 4^th rows x once*; repeat from * to * x once with green and white yarn;

* 1^st and 2^nd rows x 8 times, 3^rd and 4^th rows x once*; repeat from * to * x once with green and white yarn;

* 1^st and 2^nd rows x 7 times, 3^rd and 4^th rows x once*; repeat from * to * x once with green and white yarn;

* 1^st and 2^nd rows x 6 times, 3^rd and 4^th rows x once*; repeat from * to * x once with green and white yarn;

* 1^st and 2^nd rows x 5 times, 3^rd and 4^th rows x once*; repeat from * to * x once with green and white yarn;

* 1^st and 2^nd rows x 4 times, 3^rd and 4^th rows x once*; repeat from * to * x once with green and white yarn;

Stitches control: zigzags pattern: 29 sts x 29,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Stockinette stitch: 25,5 sts x 29,5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Top

Back

Cast on 119 (132) sts with criss-cross method and green yarn and make 44 rows of pattern 1 x once. Then, work with stockinette stitch with green yarn, decrease 14 (16) sts in the 1^st row = 105 (116) sts. In 24 cm = 70 rows from the set-up row, bind off 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes and 1 x 3 sts, 2 x 2 sts, 1 x 1 st in every 2^nd row and 3 x 1 st in every 4^th row = 75 (86) sts. In 35 cm = 104 rows (36 cm = 106 rows) from the set-up row, bind off the rest 10 (14) sts of shoulder from each side. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 4 sts, 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2^nd row. In 40 cm = 118 rows (41 cm = 120 rows) from the set-up row, bind off the rest 10 (14) sts of shoulder from each side.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole. For this, in 27 cm = 80 rows (28 cm = 82 rows) from the set-up row, bind off the central 19 (20) sts and 1 x 4 (5) sts, 1 x 3 sts, 2 x 2 sts, 3 x 1 st in every 2^nd row and 4 x 1 st in every 4^th row.

Assembly

Make shoulder and side seams. Cast on 160 (166) sts along the neck-hole with circular knitting needles and green yarn and 94 (99) sts along the arm-holes and make 2 circle rows of purls, then, bind off the sts as knit sts.

Skirt

Back and Front

Cast on 145 (158) sts with criss-cross method and white yarn and work due to the patterns order 2. At the same time, in 69 cm = 204 rows from the set-up row, decrease 1 st from both sides for waist narrowing and 19 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 105 (118) sts. In 82,5 cm = 244 rows from the set-up row, make 2 rows for placket with green yarn and shirr.
